Tip 1 - 2:40 Ascot – Myal

It’s been an almost ridiculous rise to stardom for Myal, who didn’t show much promise for his first four career races but has picked up five wins in six outings since and all over today’s distance of 7f. The four-year-old has quickly risen up the grades, too, going from Class 5 in his first win to Class 2 for his most recent, and looks set for even better things.

Tip 2 - 3:35 Lingfield - Cathedral

Cathedral looks very well-treated by the weights in this, receiving the 3yo allowance. She’s rated just one pound inferior to her highest-rated rivals, but receives between 15 and 12 pounds from them. She was a close second in a Newmarket Group 3 towards the back end of last season, having won her maiden on the all-weather here at Lingfield. She should be able to take this en route to bigger and better things later in the year.

Tip 3 - 4:40 Hexham - Hostile Hotelier

Lightly raced over fences Hostile Hotelier could pick up a nice price at the back end of the season, getting to run here off a chase mark which is 4lb lower than his hurdles one. He didn’t run badly last time out, getting beat by just half a length, a great effort considering he ran into trouble in the closing stages. A bit more luck here and he could get his head in front for the first time in a chase.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
