Tip 1 - 2:20 Salisbury - Spirit Of Breeze
It’s been a couple of years since Spirit Of Breeze tasted success, taking over 400 days off in that time and more recently returning to the track last month after a further 262 days away. However, his comeback was very positive with only a neck separating the five-year-old and victory, and he goes off at the same mark today with apprentice Ashley Lewis on board once again.

Tip 2 - 2:40 Beverley - Lady Britain
Not good enough to win a Maiden but getting better with every run, Lady Britain could be reasonably treated off an opening mark of just 59. Her run 6½ lengths behind Awaken could actually be a decent performance, considering that horse's rating of 102 and the fact she has entries in some big races coming up. Against a lower standard of opposition she could get the job done.

Tip 3 - 3:47 Beverley - Herakles
One win from 20 on turf is not exactly solid form, but Herakles should be there or thereabouts. Has been narrowly beaten by one of today’s opponents, Jojo Rabbit, twice this summer but is now in receipt of two more pounds than previously. The five-year-old has won from today’s mark of 66 before, and he will appreciate the firm nature of the ground.

Tip 4 - 4:35 Salisbury - Thankyou Baroness
A small but select field for this race, where it may pay to focus on the two unexposed fillies in the lineup. Favorite Memory steps down in grade after a try at a Newmarket listed race, but her price is prohibitively short. Preference is for Thankyou Baroness. She appreciated the move into handicap company, when readily taking a Doncaster Class 5 contest last time out. The level of form she’s shown is short of what today’s opposition has achieved, but the bloodless manner of that win suggested there are bigger and better things to come.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
