Tip 1 - 1:20 Goodwood - Marhaba Ghaiyyath
Plenty in this with decent chances. Charlie Johnston’s three-year-old was edged out on first trip over 1m2f but was two-and-a-half lengths clear of third and should appreciate this trip given he’s out of multiple Group 1 winner across 1m2f-1m4f, Ghaiyyath. Beat some experienced horses at Redcar in June and looks like he could well defy the six-pound rise for this month’s effort at Newmarket.

Tip 2 - 1:55 Goodwood - Havana Hurricane
Eve Johnson Houghton has had a tremendous Goodwood so far, with two wins from four runners including a Group 2 juvenile race on Tuesday. Havana Hurricane has every chance of making it an even better week. The strapping two-year-old was impressive in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot before going down by a short head in a big sales race at Newbury. He looks set to keep on improving and should be suited by the step up to six furlongs.

Tip 3 - 2:30 Goodwood - Sir Dinadan
This all depends on whether the form of the Irish Derby run was a fluke performance or if Sir Dinadan found a new level. He was just three-and-a-half lengths behind Lambourn that day, and a repeat of that would be more than good enough here. That was his first attempt at 1m4f, so the extra distance could have brought about the improvement; today will give us a better idea.

Tip 4 - 3:45 Goodwood - Getreadytorumble
Career flat turf figures of 113 make for good reading for Getreadytorumble, especially with the second of those wins being a convincing course-and-distance victory. The three-year-old followed that up with a creditable third in a Class 2 at Sandown last time out and goes off at the same rating today at a grade lower so should be well prepared for this one.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
