Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 1:20 Cheltenham - Salvator Mundi e/w

The top of the betting in this race make it difficult to go with Kopek Des Bordes, but there could be some value in the places from a horse it is hard to know how good can be after just four races in his career. Narrow second to Sir Gino on debut in France before findging the Triumph Hurdle too hot last year. Won well twice since with the last in the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown, which has been a good marker for places in recent years.

Tip 2 - 2:40 Cheltenham - The Changing Man

The Ultima is one race at the Cheltenham Festival in which the UK has a great recent record, so we will side with one runner that looks to have a bit in hand. In a four runner race last time out he trounced the field race to win by 24 and 88 lengths, with the favourite unseating. The make up of the race probably made it difficult for the handicapper to go in hard on him, so he looks like he got away very lightly with just a 2lb rise.

Tip 3 - 3:20 Cheltenham - Jade De Grugy

Lossiemouth rightly heads the betting market for the Mares’ Hurdle after comfortably winning the race last year but she faces significant competition from stablemate Jade De Grugy, who is looking to make it five wins from six hurdles outings. The six-year-old was a convincing victor in a Grade 3 run at Punchestown last month and may be primed to take advantage of any slip up by Lossiemouth, who fell four from home on her last run.

Tip 4 - 4:40 Cheltenham - Murcia

Murcia was badly short of room on a couple of occasions last time out at Naas, and did very well to get within a neck of the winner, given the circumstances. The way she saw that race out suggests she has a decent engine. She didn’t impress with her jumping, but an improvement in that department would make her very hard to beat. That Naas race has produced four of the last six winners of the Fred Winter, and she looks to be a cracking price.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
