Tip 1 - 2:15 Lingfield - Post Rider
Plenty of protagonists unknown on ground softer than good, but it’s Post Rider we side with, who looked pretty progressive in her three-year-old campaign last year. Not been seen for 341 days but has previous winning form when fresh, so that should be a problem. Never finished outside the top three on the turf, and if taking to the ground as she should - her sire was a multiple Group winner on softer ground - she should go close.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Musselburgh - Gillali Lass
In a small field, where a case can be made for four of the five runners, preference is for Gillali Lass. She was narrowly beaten by the reopposing Oasis Diamond over this trip at Catterick a couple of weeks ago before seemingly not staying six furlongs there last week, when finishing second again. She continues in good form and looks sure to go close getting another pound from her previous conqueror for her previous head defeat.

Tip 3 - 3:15 Lingfield - Dandy Orton
Dandy Orton has shown very little in three career races so far, finishing stone last in two of them, but there is some encouragement he could have a good run out of nowhere today in such a small field. Blinkers are applied for the first time, and the two-year-old has been gelded, so there is hope they will make a difference and cause evolution into a more feared racer, especially with this run being a tad shorter than his previous outings.

Tip 4 - 4:00 Musselburgh - Miss Brazen
The improving Miss Brazen is in good form at the moment, finishing first and second in her last two runs. This could be a spot for her to pick up another win while running well, with Brazilian Belle having to cope with the burden of a 6lb penalty. It can be tough to catch front-runners at Musselburgh, so if Miss Brazen gets one of her usual fast starts, she will be tough to peg back.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
