Tip 1 - 3:00 Catterick - Saxon Kingdom
Saxon Kingdom looks about as consistent a horse as you’ll find at this level. A win and three decent efforts in his last five runs suggest that this is very much his level. His one recent blip came when not staying over further on soft ground at Leopardstown. Trainer Thomas Dowling rarely sends his runners across the Irish Sea, with six runners in the last five years yielding two winners. Saxon Kingdom is one to note.

Tip 2 - 3:15 Ffos Las - Dollyana
In a weak-looking race, Dollyana looks handicapped to take advantage of her much reduced rating. Last time she raced at Ffos last she put up a career best performance, beating a horse now rated 99 despite giving away weight. Should she run anywhere near that level she looks to be thrown in off a mark of just 65.

Tip 3 - 3:30 Cork - Star Of Jupiter
Third over course and distance here last month in a much tougher assignment, Star Of Jupiter could go better today with a slightly kinder field. That run followed up a distance second at Chepstow just a week prior and after spending the start of his career on all-weather over shorter distance, it appears that stepping up and moving to turf has been the right move.

Tip 4 - 3:45 Ffos Las - Papabella
The switch to six furlongs last season seems to have done the trick for this five-year-old, who has three wins, two seconds and two thirds from nine races since then. Is off a career-high mark but the same as last time out when finishing second at Chepstow. Has won over course and distance and is ground versatile so won’t mind the drying course.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
