Tip 1 - 2:00 Pontefract - Georginio 4/1

Georginio is an interesting runner for Archie Watson, back running on turf after a short break. Unable to get involved from a bad draw last time out on the all-weather, he looks interesting back on turf. He does tend to see his races out well so a small increase in distance could suit him, the 1lb drop for his last run was probably slightly generous, and that could be just enough to see him over the line today.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Ffos Las - Bin Ajwad

A tricky maiden to start the day at Ffos Las, with plenty of the contenders having question marks. Sky Advocate sets a decent standard, but remains winless after nine starts, Fantasy World didn’t look the strongest stayer over this trip last time, with today’s soft ground unlikely to be a help, and Finalise may have had issues to be making her debut so late. Preference is for Bin Ajwad. He has two solid runs to his name, with each suggesting today’s trip will suit. He represents the James Tate yard, with three winners from the last 14 runners.

Tip 3 - 3:15 Ffos Las - Calibos

Calibos has been slowly progressing up the distances over the last 10 months and the change in trainer back in March seems to have done him the world of good. The three-year-old has placed in his last three starts, most recently coming second to the favourite over this distance at Wolverhampton, and looks to be improving with every race in his attempt to get off the mark.

Tip 4 - 3:30 Pontefract - Mount King

Tim Easterby’s five-year-old has a decent course-and-distance record round here, with two win from six. The four non-wins haven’t been massively close, but he should be able to make a bold bid today. Has won here from the same mark as today’s 67 and looked for all money ready to challenge here eight days ago before being hampered badly on the run in. It’s been all or nothing this season with three top-two finishes and three nowhere nears. Let’s hope it’s the former today.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
