After four placed efforts from his first 10 career starts, Secret Beach finally got his head in front last time out. That York win wasn’t out of turn, as this son of Footstepsinthesand has long threatened to be better than his rating in the 70s. The likely soft ground at Yarmouth is something of an unknown, but he arrives in cracking form for a yard with two wins and a place from its last three runners.

Tip 2 - 6:40 Yarmouth - Lir Speciale e/w
After showing early career promise recording four wins in his first eight starts Lir Speciale then really lost his way. However, he comes into this race following a break and a wind op, so if that has fixed some issues this might be the time to catch him. He gets in here off a rating 20lb lower than his last winning mark, so if any of the spark returns he could look out of place in this handicap.

There has been plenty of rain around Yarmouth over the last few days, and with more forecast Thursday, we pick a horse who seems to relish the softer ground. Racingbreaks Ryder has five career wins and three seconds, with four of those victories and all seconds coming on soft or heavy ground. A handy-looking mark of 84, one in which he has won from twice before, makes him appealing at a decent price.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
