Tip 1 - 2:15 Brighton - Pop Dancer
Three course-and-distance runs here over the last three months have yielded results of 212 for Pop Dancer, figures which get even better when you throw in his previous run of a Class 5 victory over 5f at Goodwood. He remains well handicapped with a rating of 65, which shouldn’t pose much issue considering he’s won at much higher in the past and it’s just 1lb higher than his second by a nose last time out.

Tip 2 - 3:30 Pontefract - Cosmos Raj
Cosmos Raj has been in some rude form this summer, with a trio of wins and a trio of seconds from eight races since the start of May. That has bumped his mark up from 69 to 79, which would represent a career-high winning mark if he won. However, Cian Horgan takes off five pounds and has won aboard Cosmos Raj this year. The disappointment in a big field at York last time can be forgiven, and he should be much more at home with eight runners here.

Tip 3 - 3:45 Brighton - Jiff's Army
Jiff’s Army is on the march at the moment after looking like he has found his legs again. He ran well at Epsom two starts ago but the line came a bit too soon that day, and then followed it up with a commanding win by 2½ lengths next time out. He is responding well to headgear and could be tough to stop if he resumes his progress.

Tip 4 - 4:50 Sligo - Tartaraghan
Low-grade stuff to get the car under way at Sligo. Tartaraghan steps back into a claimer having run two nice races in handicaps, including a win at Navan. She looks to be fairly well-treated here, receiving weight from those at the top of the betting thanks to Keithen Kennedy’s allowance. In a race full of question marks and regressive sorts, she looks like the one to be on.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?
We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.
A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.
For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
