We'd be silly to not put up Scottie Scheffler in some regard. The world number one comes into this off the back of a two-shot win at the BMW Championship, his fifth victory in his last 10 starts, and is playing golf at an almost unbelievable level.

However, the Texan has a somewhat chequered past at East Lake, having started with the -10 handicap in each of the last three seasons but only converting that into victory once - last year.

The good news is that he tends to start well in the Tour Championship. He was first round leader last year, carding -5, and was one shot off leading after 18 holes in 2022. With the way he's playing right now, there's every chance he opens with another low round on Thursday.

Such is the form of Scheffler that a number of other players are going completely under the radar, including Russell Henley. The five-time PGA Tour winner claimed the Arnold Palmer Invitational title earlier in the year and comes into the Tour Championship with form of T5-T10-T2-T10-T17-T15, with those two T10s coming in Majors.
