Is DraftKings DFS Available in Ontario?

While DraftKings Sportsbook is now legal and live in Ontario, DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) hasn't been available since April 1 as the company stopped offering that service in preparation for its sportsbook launch.

There are two reasons for DraftKings ending DFS in Ontario: First, Ontario iGaming laws prohibit DFS players from competing against players outside of Ontario. Also, Ontario has restrictive fees and taxes on Daily Fantasy Sports. It should be noted that rival FanDuel also pulled DFS, though its live for sports betting in Ontario.

Now that DraftKings Ontario sportsbook has launched, however, the sting of not having DFS is lessened a little.

Ontario Sports Betting Market Launch

Ontario sports betting is nearing it's second month and there's certainly no shortage of sports to bet on. Online sportsbooks are offering Stanley Cup betting and NBA betting, among many other markets.

What’s more, MLB betting is in full swing and the Blue Jays look like they'll be one of the American League's elite teams. You can also always bet on Buffalo Bills Super Bowl 57 futures.

It's great news that Ontarians now have DraftKings Ontario as a sports betting option.
