Two of the most disappointing teams in the NFL after two games are the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants. Both Atlanta and New York have the same fundamental problem; neither can protect their quarterback. Both teams ignored their offensive lines during the 2021 NFL Draft and it’s proving to be a costly decision.

Entering Week 3, each team desperately needs a win to keep any hopes of the playoffs alive. Most NFL betting sites have these two teams as +600 to +800 underdogs to make the playoffs after their rough starts. But which team will be able to find a way to get a victory and potentially make a run?

To get you ready for this NFC matchup, here is everything you need to know from an NFL betting perspective going into Week 3.

Take a look at Falcons vs Giants odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Falcons vs. Giants Key Matchups

Falcons WR Calvin Ridley vs. Giants CB James Bradberry: These are the two best players from each side and the winner will likely determine the outcome of this game.

Giants LT Andrew Thomas vs. Falcons DE Dante Fowler Jr.: The only way Atlanta can generate pressure is via Fowler. He will face off against Thomas, who was the No. 4 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Falcons TE Kyle Pitts vs. Giants FS Logan Ryan: Pitts has had a slow start to his NFL career, but is this the week the Falcons finally unleash him against a pretty good secondary?

5 Falcons vs. Giants Stats

7: The Falcons have lost 7 straight games, including 5 straight road games.

7 of 8: The Giants have covered the spread in 7 of their last 8 games against NFC opponents.

6: The Falcons have lost 6 straight games to NFC opponents.

8 of 9: The Under has hit in 8 of the last 9 games for the Giants.

5: The Giants have lost 5 straight games in the month of September.

Falcons vs. Giants Player Props To Consider

Giants RB Saquon Barkley, Over 87.5 Total Yards

Odds: -115 at DraftKings

New York continues to ramp up Barkley’s work as he saw 16 touches in Week 2. Now coming off 10 days rest, Barkley should see close to 20 touches here in Week 3. And against one of the worst defenses in football, a day over 87.5 yards feels very likely.

Giants QB Daniel Jones, Over 26.5 Rushing Yards

Odds: -110 at DraftKings

Jones finished Week 2 with 95 rushing yards, but it could have been an even bigger day if a long touchdown wasn’t taken off the board due to a penalty. Look for the Giants to scheme up some designed QB runs for their quarterback in Week 3.

Falcons RB Mike Davis, Under 75.5 Total Yards

Odds: -115 at DraftKings

Davis has not been as effective as the Falcons had hoped this season and it’s why he only saw nine carries in Week 2. Against one of the league’s best run defenses, don’t expect Davis to have much luck this week either. Instead, Cordarrelle Patterson could be the lead back this week for the Falcons.

Falcons vs. Giants Moneyline

Things are not going great in New York as the Giants have started 0-2 for the fifth straight season. However, they will have a chance to bounce back in Week 3 against the Falcons, who have historically struggled when playing outdoors with Matt Ryan under center.

The defense for the Giants should be able to keep them in this game. It’ll be up to Daniel Jones to win this matchup after a strong performance in Week 2. You could take the Giants (-160) on DraftKings , but perhaps look to the point spread instead as it offers more value.

Falcons vs. Giants Point Spread

The Falcons put together a better effort in Week 2 against the Buccaneers, but they still lost by 23 points. This is a team that has really struggled to stay competitive as of late as they have lost seven straight games by a combined 81 points.

Despite both teams starting 0-2 this season, this is one of the few NFL spreads that feels off in Week 3. The Giants are clearly the better team and should be giving 4.5 to 5 points, at minimum. Take the Giants -3 (-115) on BetMGM .

Falcons vs. Giants Totals

While both the Giants and Falcons have spent a ton of resources to improve their defenses over the last few years, they have both struggled to start the 2021 season. No team has surrendered more points than the Falcons (80) during the first two weeks of the season.

However, this sets up to be a lower-scoring game considering the offenses can’t block for their quarterback. It would not be a surprise if the total amount of sacks for this game reached double digits.

Be sure to shop around for the best odds on your favorite betting apps and sportsbooks as this line has moved all over the place. Depending on the site, it sits between 47 and 48.5. Take the Under 48.5 on FanDuel (-114) as both teams should struggle to even score in the 20s in this contest.
