Lulamba - Arkle Chase - Tuesday

The Arkle is typically won by the market favourite, and Lulamba will be hoping it’s no different this year after disappointment in the Triumph Hurdle 12 months ago. Lulamba was second to 100/1 shot Poniros in 2025 but comes into this year’s Arkle after dominating the three chases he’s entered since, winning all three by a combined 26 lengths. Kopek Des Bordes will certainly be a threat, but Lulamba’s experience gives him the edge.

Marine Nationale - Queen Mother Champion Chase - Wednesday

Majborough is well-fancied by many, but he’s never looked like the most natural jumper of a fence. His market rival Marine Nationale is Cheltenham banker material. Despite a fairly modest three-from-nine record over fences in his career, his Cheltenham record is outstanding.

A Supreme Novices’ Hurdle win in 2023 was followed up last season by a scintillating win in this race, beating Jonbon by 18 lengths. If the ground isn’t too soft, he’ll take a huge amount of stopping.

Fact To File - Ryanair Chase - Thursday

The Cheltenham Gold Cup’s loss is the Ryanair Chase’s gain, as it seems as though Fact To File is being readied for a tilt at defending the crown he so convincingly won instead of going up against other stablemates on Friday. He was a nine-length winner of this 12 months ago as a 6/4 favourite, and there’s a decent chance he will go off even shorter this time around.

A lot of that has to do with a dominant win in the Irish Gold Cup, where he beat Gaelic Warrior by five lengths and Galopin Des Champs by over 13. It seems a shame, he won’t be lining up on Friday, but it means we have a banker and a half on Thursday.

Dinoblue - Mares Chase - Friday

In form after winning her Cheltenham prep race in February and her only other start this year, Dinoblue is well set to defend her Mares’ Chase crown. She’s never been out of the top two in a chase at the track and looks ready to make it back-to-back festival wins. Her main danger must give her weight and had a hard race at the Dublin Racing Festival; everything else is nowhere near her level. She could be the banker of the entire meeting.
