How to Bet on the Grand National Online

The first step to placing your Grand National bets online is to choose the betting site you want to use. At Bookies.com, we’ve got all of the best Grand National betting sites and apps in one place for you to make finding the right one even easier. What’s even better is that these sites offer Grand National free bets to new customers, so if you haven’t had an account with one before, you can pick up a new customer betting offer along the way.

Once you have signed up, added a payment method and deposited, placing a bet usually takes just a few seconds. Navigate to the Grand National on the betting site. As the race approaches, it will likely be right there on the homepage. If not, head to Horse Racing and then either ‘Future Racing’ or ‘Ante Post’ to find it. If you’re betting on the day of the race, go to the 4:00 at Aintree to see the full list of runners.

To add a selection to your betslip, simply click on the odds listed beside it. You will either see an icon saying there’s a selection on your betting app betslip, or it will pop up and you won’t be able to miss it. Enter your stake and tick the each-way option if you want to place the bet each way. Finally, hit the ‘Place Bet’ or ‘Bet Now’ button, and you should get confirmation that your bet is on.

It's worth pointing out that trusted betting sites may be obliged to verify new customer accounts. In order to do this, photo ID and/or proof of address may be required. The process is quick and easy, so don't be put off if you see a request for this information after the race. It's entirely legit and completely normal at top UK betting sites

Different punters have their own way of picking their Grand National bets. Some are in-depth studiers of form, while more casual Grand National punters will pick based on the name of the horse or perhaps the jockey’s silks. Keep reading for our Grand National tips.

2025 Grand National Betting Tips

Those towards the top of the betting have their share of questions to answer. Iroko is up in trip, Intense Raffles will be racing on quicker ground than is ideal, Hewick is older than most recent winners of the race and I Am Maximus has the burden of top weight. The exception is Stumptown. He has won all three of his starts this season, all of which were cross country contests. Those races show how well he handles unique tracks and that he stays extreme distances. At 8/1 with bet365 , he appears to be the likeliest winner.

The Grand National Trends suggest that you need a horse that has run relatively recently. That comment does not apply to Minella Indo, but he does tick a lot of boxes despite being a 12-year-old. Trained by Henry de Bromhead, who was responsible for 2021 winner, Minella Times, he’s a thorough stayer and a solid jumper. This race has been his target since finishing third in it last season, with just one run since October, over hurdles, to keep him fresh for another attempt. He’s a huge price - 33/1 with Livescore Bet - but don’t let that put you off.
