It was hoped at the start of the season that Blackpool would be fighting for promotion in League One, but a disastrous start to the season sees them managerless and second bottom in the table. Steve Bruce was given his marching orders after leading the team to just two wins and seven defeats from their opening nine games.
Top betting sites have now priced up who might replace the experienced manager at Bloomfield Road. The early favourite for the role is someone very familiar with the Blackpool surrounding in Ian Evatt. Also mentioned are those with previous associations at the club in Charlie Adam and Ian Holloway. Sean Dyche is seen as an outsider, and it would be a surprise if he was willing to drop down to League One to return to management.

Ian Evatt Favourite For Role
Ian Evatt was one of the key figures during Blackpool’s rise to the Premier League, becoming a stalwart in defence and remaining in high regard by the Tangerines faithful even now, 15 years on, so his appointment would certainly be welcomed.
He’s been without a job since leaving Bolton Wanderers in January this year, a club he guided to promotion from League Two in his first season in 2021 and then won the EFL Trophy two years later, and so a return to Bloomfield Road could be on the cards for Evatt if top UK betting sites are to be believed.
Sean Dyche Willing to Return to Management in League One?
It’s somewhat surprising that a manager with as much Premier League experience as Sean Dyche has remained on the market this long. Dyche has been linked with a string of jobs since leaving Everton in January but still finds himself without a team.
Having gone through four permanent managers since 2022, Blackpool may be looking for some stability. The former Burnley manager took that team from Championship also-rans to as high as seventh in the Premier League during his time there. A CV like that will be very attractive for Blackpool, and it’s no shock to see Dyche among the favourites at new betting sites.
Former Skipper Charlie Adam in The Running
Charlie Adam had a distinguished career in the Premier League, but it was arguably his spell at Blackpool that really made his name. He was an inspirational leader of the team that got promoted into the Premier League, which ultimately then led to his big move to Liverpool. He is likely to be a popular appointment given how popular a player he was in the two years he spent at the club.
Adam’s only previous managerial experience saw him at Fleetwood Town but having spent time as the Everton set piece coach in recent months, he could be ready for a second go. The odds at most betting apps suggest he could be of interest to the Blackpool hierarchy.
Ian Holloway Ready For Shock Return to Blackpool?
Having led Blackpool to the promised land of the Premier League, Ian Holloway will be an obvious candidate for the Tangerines to consider. And he may enjoy working under the new ownership more than what he had to endure during his time there previously.
After taking Blackpool so far in his previous stint at the club, including a historic league double over Liverpool, he will no doubt be welcomed by the fans should he be appointed. The question will be does he want to swap flying high in League Two for a League One rescue mission. The odds at fast withdrawal betting sites would suggest you shouldn't rule it out.
