Erling Haaland was the winner of the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Year award, and the Norwegian is once again favourite to win this accolade at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The Norwegian managed to score 36 top-flight goals during his maiden season at Manchester City, and the striker has already reached double figures this time around. Hpwever, the bookies think it's far from certain that he will get the most votes.

Mohamed Salah remains a shining light for Liverpool and is also among the favourites to claim this award for the third time, having achieved the distinction in 2017-18 and 2021-22. There's also Haaland's Manchester City team-mate Rodri, who finished high up the rankings in the recent Ballon d'Or vote, and the Spaniard's odds have already shortened since the campaign began.

Next come Arsenal pair Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, although the latter has gone a little quiet in the past few weeks, with James Maddison, Julian Alvarez and Heung-Min Son all capable of featuring on the shortlist.

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is fast on the way to becoming a Manchester City legend. The Norwegian scored 36 Premier League goals last season and helped his team secure an historic treble. The forward is among the favourites in the Ballon d'Or betting for the 2024 award, with Haaland leading the scoring charts in the Premier League right now with 11 goals.

However, the bookies are not sold that Haaland will scoop this award for the second consecutive season. He's just one of several important players in the City squad, and perhaps he will struggle to emulate last season's scoring feats.

There are other Haaland markets if you're interested in betting on how many goals he will score during the 2023/24 season, with the bookies pricing up the various goal milestones that will be reached by this forward.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah was one of the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Season betting favourites before a ball was kicked, but his Liverpool team endured a slow start to their campaign, and it swiftly materialised that the Egyptian wasn't in the running for an individual prize that he previously won twice.

However, the Reds finished the previous campaign strongly, and it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw Salah land a big haul this time around, with the African forward having notched 19 goals last term, and it's anticipated that he might get closer to the 30 mark this time around. His Liverpool side have made a bright start, and the forward has eight top-flight goals on the board as part of his team's title assault.

Salah is clearly the pick of the Liverpool players to win this award, having scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists last term. It appears the Reds can bounce back after last season's blip, and we might see the African return to the sort of form that had him marked out as a future Ballon d'Or winner.

Rodir's stellar performances for the Cityzens last season led to him being respected in the Ballon d'Or voting, where he was able to land fifth place. The betting apps now think there's a fair chance he can land first spot in this season's PFA award.

The Spain international has made nearly 150 appearances for Manchester City since signing from Atletico Madrid in 2019, with the player scoring the winning goal in last season's Champions League final. New betting sites think the 27-year-old is now the second most likely Manchester City player to win this award.

Declan Rice

Declan Rice might benefit from being English when canvassing the most votes in the PFA Award betting. The midfielder has certainly hit the ground running for Arsenal since completing a big money move from West Ham, with the England international one of the first names on the teamsheet for a Gunners side who could challenge for Premier League and Champions League titles.

Rice is operating mainly in a defensive midfield position for Arsenal, although he has scored a couple of goals for his new club, and he's now regarded as the Gunners player most likely to win this award. He has leapfrogged Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard in the betting, both of whom were among the favourites last term.

Declan Rice is now among the leading contenders to win the 2023/24 PFA Player of the Year award, and it's easy to see why. The England midfielder made a big-money move from West Ham to Arsenal in the summer and has quickly established himself as a key player for the Gunners, scoring the winning goal against Manchester United earlier this season.

Rice plays in a somewhat unglamorous defensive midfield position, although football betting sites still think the player can canvas plenty of votes later in the season. If he was able to help the London outfit claim the Premier League title, then his efforts for the campaign would certainly be brought into sharp focus.

He's been one of the big market movers since the season started, and perhaps Rice's odds will continue to shorten if he demonstrates on a continual basis that he's a big-game player for the Gunners.

Bukayo Saka

Premier League betting sites certainly respect the chances of Bukayo Saka winning this season's PFA Player of the Year award, with the Arsenal winger having scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists last season.

At the age of 22, Saka has got the football world at his feet, and the fact that he has become an England regular points to a career which will be packed with individual awards. Mikel Arteta will be looking for his young star to reach 20 goals for the current Premier League campaign, and he seems assured of a starting berth despite competition from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Saka posted his best numbers for the Gunners last season as they pushed hard in the Premier League title race before falling short. There will be a confidence that they can go better this season, and much might come down to the performance levels of their number seven. He's among the current favourites to win the award and looks likely to be included on any shortlist.

Tottenham Pair Could Be On Shortlist

It's been Harry Kane who has been featuring in PFA Premier League teams of the year in the past few seasons, although the striker left Tottenham in the summer for Bayern Munich. It has created attacking space for James Maddison and Heung-Min Spn to prosper, with the pair potentially representing value when it comes to betting on the winner of this award.

Much depends on whether Spurs can continue to ride high at the top of the table, with Ange Postecoglou's team having made a flying start to the season. Maddison has been one of the signings of the campaign so far and the midfielder is posting the sort of numbers which could definitely make him PFA Player shortlist material. However, perhaps Son can be the star turn and the South Korean is now occupying that centre forward role vacated by Kane.
