Tip 1 - 2:00 Goodwood - Noble Champion

A lot is expected of Noble Champion, an expensive purchase with eye-catching entries in the future. He got off the mark nicely on the all-weather but it is on grass where connections will want to see results. He couldn’t go the pace last time out, but that was a good looking race, so dropping in grade and going up in distance should give him more of a chance.

Tip 2 - 2:35 Goodwood - Toca Madera

Finished behind top weight and favourite for this race, Shagraan, twice last season, but in the first he carried more weight and in the second was just lighter. Today, has five pounds in hand and claimer Tommie Jakes takes off a further five pounds. Encouraging reappearance with second at Newmarket despite pulling very hard. Could be ready to take a leap from 3yo campaign.

Tip 3 - 2:55 Newmarket - Hornsea Bay

Hornsea Bay only has three runs to his name but won on his debut at Ayr in September before backing that up with a second on the same course just a few weeks later. He has only run once since then, three weeks ago in Nottingham, and looked strong until the final furlong despite moving up to Class 2. A step back down in grade could suit this three-year-old.

Tip 4 - 3:30 Newmarket - Fifty Nifty

Tom Clover’s lightly-raced 4yo Fifty Nifty looks the sort to keep on improving this season. He was a close second in a similar race over course and distance last month, going down by a neck despite getting a bump at the start and being short of room at a crucial point. It was a huge run in the grand scheme of things, and there’s every chance he’ll come on for that run.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
