Tip 1 - 2:25 Yarmouth - Berry Clever

Berry Clever ended last season with two wins on the bounce at Kempton, and although he’s yet to add to that in two runs this year, he looks well set to break that run here. He finished second on this course three weeks ago over 1m but likely would have won if it was a 7f race, as today’s is, which should point to this four-year-old having shaken off the cobwebs.

Tip 2 - 3:13 York - Elite Status

Elite Status had some great runs in his three-year-old campaign when conditions were in his favour, and with it being good to firm underfoot today, we should see the best from a horse who traditionally goes well following a break. He should be able to take advantage of the fact Inisherin’s form completely fell away when he left three-year-old company last season.

Tip 3 - 4:05 Yarmouth - Fiorella Princess

If the market is anything to go by, Another Abbott is the one to beat, despite having not finished higher than third in any of his three races. The last one over course and distance, he was behind a couple of decent sorts - one rated now 93. So this 0-75 is a step down, but the argument could and should be made for Fiorella Princess. Narrow second on debut to now-92-rated The Dragon King and was a narrow fifth on seasonal reappearance. Has won on the all-weather in between, is a consistent horse and has an intriguing seven-pound claimer aboard.

Tip 4 - 4:18 York - Gallant

Gallant could be thrown in off a very handy mark if the form of some of his earlier runs holds up today. In here off 84, he comfortably beat the now-95 rated West Acre and 93-rated So Darn Hot on the all-weather last year. Any step forward from that effort today will make him very difficult to peg back.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
