Tip 1 - 2:40 Goodwood - Mr Hampstead

Mr Hampstead absolutely bolted up over course and distance on seasonal reappearance to win by over five lengths. The rise of seven pounds shouldn’t be too much of a problem for a horse who looks appreciably better than two and three-year-old seasons. Always shown plenty of promise and thought good enough to be entered into Epsom Derby last year, but this month’s success was a first for the four-year-old who could move onto bigger and better things with another win here.

Tip 2 - 2:50 Bath - Sisters In The Sky

Sisters In The Sky’s last two runs have been here at Bath, and both were promising. Last time out, he fluffed the start before running on well to go down by a neck, while the time before that, he was outpaced over five furlongs and again was doing his best work late. With a new mark set to kick in from tomorrow, he’s 2lb well in, while Jordan Williams can claim an additional five. He’ll be tough to beat.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Haydock - Maw Lam

Opposing the two favourites in this race is tricky, but if anyone can upset them, it’s Maw Lam. This three-year-old only has one victory to her name, which came in her first-ever race, but she’s run well in Class 1 races over the last year and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth behind a runaway winner at this grade in April. Progression is required, but she clearly has it in her to compete.

Tip 4 - 3:15 Goodwood - Beset

As you would expect after joining Joseph O’Brien, Beset put in a great performance first time out for his new trainer, winning with what looked like a bit in hand at Sligo. He ran into a bit of trouble in-running in that race so could still have a bit up his sleeve. He wasn’t stopping at the finish either so should relish the extra distance today.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
