Tip 1 - 1:15 Thirsk – Water Tiger

Water Tiger is making his debut here but stands a great chance of starting off with a bang, given that he’s the foal of serial winner Mayson who won multiple Class 1 races over short distance throughout his career. With most others in this race also running for the first time, having that sort of pedigree could set this three-year-old apart.

Tip 2 - 2:05 Epsom - Havana Hurricane

Havana Hurricane has bundles of potential, having won a decent race at Goodwood on debut. Despite being slowly away, he powered home to win going away, suggesting this step up in trip will be within range. The second and third home that day have won since, so there is depth to the form. This race is something of a lottery, given how unexposed they all are, but Eve Johnson Houghton won this race two years ago and looks to have another huge chance.

Tip 3 - 4:00 Epsom - Whirl

It is usual for a horse to have the speed required for a Guineas and the stamina for the Oaks, so at 6/4 Desert Flower is worth taking on. We might as well do that with one that has proven she likes the extra distance, so after her performance in the Musidora we are siding with Whirl. The further they went the better she looked last time out, so she should cope best with the tough Epsom finishing straight.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
