Tip 1 - 2:10 Lingfield - Gincident

One win and three thirds - all by under one-and-a-half lengths - has represented an excellent start to life under the training of James Owen, and the most recent outing was a course-and-distance run at this grade that should stand him in good stead for today. In fact, that last run was also Gincident’s first ever go at 1m2f, and progression here is certainly on the cards.

Tip 2 - 2:50 Southwell - Jubilant

After a good win earlier in the year, Jubilant slightly lost his way over hurdles, putting in a bad performance last time out at Plumpton. However, he is on a lenient mark if taking to chasing, and connections are taking no chances with the booking of Sean Bowen. The cheekpieces, which didn’t have the desired effect, are removed, and he could be ridden quietly to pounce late.

Tip 3 - 3:02 Nottingham - Banana

Banana’s career record of one win from 49 runs doesn’t inspire much confidence, but Dixon’s mare is in the form of her life. Three runs on turf this season have yielded two places and a win, and there could be more to come from her on quick ground at the minimum trip. She’s a keen-going sort who often blazes a trail. Despite having competition for the lead today, she looks to have a huge chance, given her current mood.

Tip 4 - 4:02 Nottingham - Manara

Manara has taken to handicapping like a duck to water with a record of 11122 since. The last was a first race over today’s distance and good to firm ground, which will also be seen today, so there’s a good thought she can step forward from that. Market leader North Star flopped last time out and the form of her sole win in November hasn’t amounted to anything. We side with the more exposed three-year-old who could have more to come yet.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
