Tip 1 - 2:00 Ayr - Nelson Gay

Nelson Gay’s best form has come on the all-weather, with seven wins from 34 and just two from 28 on turf. However, the course-and-distance win here earlier this month with just a three-pound rise to deal with could be enough to ensure he is among the leaders again. Has three wins from previous six races and has had previous success on the turf from a mark of 82. That may be three years ago, but he can surely compete from 68 today.

Tip 2 - 2:30 Ayr - Sunny Smile

In these two-year-old races, it pays to stick with yards with a reputation for having them ready to go first time up, and Hugo Palmer is one of the best in the business at this. Throw in that Sunny Smile wears a tongue tie on his first appearance, and it looks like this one is primed to take the spoils on debut.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Ayr - King Of The Jungle

King Of The Jungle marked his return to flat turf with a respectable fourth last month at Leicester and could progress today in a competitive race. The five-year-old has run well on the all-weather this season, despite not winning, and experience at 6f could give him and edge over a number of today’s runners who aren’t used to racing over this distance. Jockey Joanna Mason has also ridden King Of The Jungle to three of his four career wins and tends to get the best out of him compared to others who have ridden him.

Tip 4 - 4:15 Warwick - Ukantango

Things haven’t quite gone to plan for Ukantango since his novice hurdling days. He won his first two starts over obstacles and went on to place in a couple of Grade 2 races. Those promising runs were over two years ago, though, and he’s reverted to hurdles after a failed stint over fences. Now rated just 113, and in the expert hands of Olly Murphy, who thrives with handicap hurdlers, he may be able to take advantage of his new mark on the back of a promising seasonal debut.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
