This Saturday will see Ascot play host to the QIPCO British Champions Day, where the top class flat racing action won’t be the only thing on offer. That is because the Tote World Pool also rolls into town for the final leg of its global betting bonanza to entice those visiting horse racing betting sites.

This year’s Tote World Pool has once again proved to be a huge success across the 20 days of action worldwide, with bettors from 20 different nations keen to take each other on for a share of the massive returns available. This Saturday will be the final chance for would-be winners to get involved this year, and there are sure to be huge rewards on offer for those willing to put their money on the line at horse racing betting apps.

What is the Tote World Pool?

The Tote World Pool is a partnership between the Totes from around the world and the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Bettors from 20 different nations have the chance to combine their wagered money into one giant pool, meaning vast amounts of winnings are up for grabs.

There are a total of 20 race days across the year involved in the Tote World Pool, with the UK and Ireland accounting for 17, the UAE for 2 and a single day in South Africa, which kicked off this year’s World Pool action in January.

Bettors from countries as far flung as Australia, Hong Kong, France, the USA and, of course, the UK, can all avail of the Tote World Pool’s offerings, and as with all of the normal offerings from the Tote, all money wagered is accumulated together and the winnings shared among those lucky enough to have chosen their bets correctly.

In effect, the Tote World Pool acts as a lottery of sorts – something similar to the EuroMillions but spread across the world instead of just European countries.

What types of bets can you make on the Tote World Pool?

The Tote World Pool is reasonably similar to the normal Tote in terms of bet types. There are many different ways of getting in on the action with the Tote World Pool, with the same rules applying as to daily Totes from wherever you may be.

As always, there is no limit to the amount you can wager on the Tote World Pool, and even better, there is no limit to the amount you can win. The pool gathered from all bets placed will dictate the winnings on offer.

The types of bets available for the Tote World Pool

  • Win – Simply put, you must pick the winner of a selected race on the card.
  • Place – As the name suggests, you must pick a horse to finish in a place in your chosen race. Races with four or fewer runners will mean you must pick the winner, races with 5-7 runners means two places are up for grabs, eight runners and over has three places on offer, while a handicap with 16 or more runners supplies four places.
  • Exacta / Forecast – An Exacta - also known as a Forecast - requires you to pick the 1st and 2nd-place finishers in a race in the correct order.
  • Quinella – A Quinella is similar to an Exacta, the only difference being that your two selected horses can finish 1st and 2nd in any order.
  • Swinger – A Swinger requires bettors to select two horses to finish placed in a race in any order. This is a great bet to have if you are struggling to choose between two horses that you are sure will run well.
  • Trifecta – The Trifecta is one of the most profitable bets available, but as you can imagine, it is a challenging one to get right. You must select three horses to finish in the first three places. A straight trifecta means you must pick the first three home in the right order, while a combination trifecta means can finish in any order.
  • Treble – The Treble is one bet that is currently not available on normal Tote days. The Treble is only used for The Tote World Pool and is essentially a three-race jackpot where you must pick the winner in each of three designated races.

So, they are the different ways of winning big for small stakes on the Tote World Pool. The Tote is a great alternative to the normal betting routine, allowing bettors to take each other on rather than trying to bash betting sites, and the Tote World Pool provides the opportunity to test your racing knowledge against people from all corners of the world.

If you haven’t yet done so, it is a great time to open a Tote account and take advantage of the huge prizes on offer from the Tote World Pool at Ascot this weekend.
