Tiger Woods PGA Championship Odds & Prop Bets Worth Backing

Tiger Woods enters TPC Harding Park looking to secure his fifth Wanamaker Trophy as major golf returns with the PGA Championship.

Golf betting fans don’t have much to go on this season with just a few starts on Woods' resume. A solo ninth at the Farmers Insurance Open in January remains his strongest showing of 2020 as Woods surges on, tied with Sam Snead for the all-time PGA Tour wins record (82) and searching for major No. 16 after ending an 11-year drought at the 2019 Masters.

Woods is also one of few players in the field with significant experience at this course. He won the 2005 WGC-American Express Championship here and went 5-0 in the 2009 President’s Cup at Harding Park.

Woods is coming off an ugly-but-respectable T-40 at the Memorial, where back issues flared up from time-to-time and created some cause for concern. But Woods remains adamant that it’s just part of the deal these days and something he needs to get through at age 44.

We’ll see if he was able to get the game back in major form with limited reps, as the journey to catch Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors continues this week in San Francisco.

TIGER WOODS ODDS BOOST: DraftKings is boosting Woods’ odds to make the cut to +100. The max bet is $50, it expires when he tees of Thursday and you must select the boost in your betting slip before placing the bet. Must be in CO, PA, IN, IA, NJ or WV to participate. Grab the odds boost here.

Brooks Koepka (-167) Over Tiger Woods

Koepka erased any concerns with his T-2 finish last week in Memphis. A double bogey Sunday on 18 with a chance to force a playoff didn’t change that. It’s been more than a year since the last major and Koepka still owns the main events until further notice, building his schedule around the Big 4 better than anyone since Woods in his prime.

We like Woods to make the cut and turn in a solid week, but beating Koepka as he looks for a third straight Wanamaker Trophy will be a tall order. Make the bet at DraftKings.

Tiger Woods (+146) over Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau has missed two consecutive PGA Championship cuts and didn’t look good in major-like conditions last month at the Memorial. While he’s overpowered certain courses since the restart, the irons and wedges are a concern at this course. If Woods can keep it in play off the tee he’ll have a big time advantage over DeChambeau with the irons. We think there’s value here at +146 with PointsBet.

Rory McIlroy Round 1 Group Winner (+160) over Tiger Woods/Justin Thomas

McIlroy is second on Tour this season with a 68.27 scoring average in Round 1. Strong starts are always key for McIlroy at majors and this course should fit his eye perfectly. It’s also advantage McIlroy off the tee in this group.

Thomas is favored at +140 and playing lights out, while Woods is third at +260. We suspect both might get off to slower starts as McIlroy goes low to put himself near the top of the leaderboard Thursday. Bet it at FanDuel.

Tiger Woods to Make the Cut (-223)

Woods has missed two of the last three major cuts. But he was playing for the first time in more than a month on the heels of his Masters win when he missed the cut in last year’s PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. Undisclosed injuries clearly hurt him when he missed the weekend at the British Open.

But he seems far healthier minus the occasional back stiffness this year, and he’s one of few players in the field with legitimate success and experience at this golf course. We expect to see him tee it up over the weekend. Find these odds with BetMGM.

Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm to Finish Top 10 (+1100)

If you’re looking for a Woods longshot, this isn’t a bad way to go. Woods’ irons should keep him in this thing through the first two days and he already pulled a T-9 finish on the West Coast in the Farmers Insurance Open in January.

If the driver cooperates, top 10 will be within reach. Rahm’s ridiculously good showing while dealing with thick rough and brutal conditions at the Memorial is still fresh in our minds, so we’ll take a long look at this one with +1100 odds with FOXBet.
