Week 1 is always one of the wildest weeks in DFS, and that proved to be true once again as players such as Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson and Sammy Watkins all had the best performances of their careers.

Our NFL Week 1 picks proved to be profitable as Christian McCaffrey, Chris Carson and Evan Engram were all potential contest winners. However, Week 2 will be much more difficult as we plot out our DFS strategy and continue to learn about these teams and players. That said, here are my best DFS plays of Week 2 during the Sunday slate of games.

Week 2 Quarterback Best Bet

Raiders QB Derek Carr ($5,100 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

There are several cheap options at quarterback this week, including Andy Dalton, Matthew Stafford and Case Keenum. But my favorite play this week is Derek Carr at home against the Kansas City Chiefs. In his two games against the Chiefs in 2018, Carr threw for 470 yards and three touchdowns.

It's evident that Carr is more comfortable running Jon Gruden's offense in Year 2 and that should translate into more fantasy points throughout the season. We are already seen this come true as Carr completed 22 of 26 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown against the Broncos. He was efficient and even threw the ball down the field more than he did all of last season.

This week, Carr will face arguably the worst defense in the league in the Kansas City Chiefs. This AFC West matchup has a point total of 53.5 at 888sport, which is the most of any game in Week 2. It's pretty safe to assume a lot of points will be scored in this contest, and Carr might need to put up 35 points to beat the Chiefs. Given his low price tag and potential upside, consider playing Carr this week in DFS.

Week 2 Running Back Best Bet

Ravens RB Mark Ingram ($6,000 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Baltimore Ravens vs. Arizona Cardinals

NFL Week 2 DFS Top Players and Best Team to Play on Sunday 1

Mark Ingram's debut for the Baltimore Ravens couldn't have gone better. The former first-round pick and New Orleans Saints running back carried the ball 14 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He was the team's clear-cut No. 1 running back and should only continue to receive more work during closer contests.

Another big performance should be in store for Ingram as the Ravens take on the Cardinals. Baltimore is a 13-point favorite at home against Arizona and should have no problem running the ball again this week. Ingram is a pretty safe bet to exceed 80 rushing yards and a score in Week 2. At $6,000, he is a must-play as an RB2.

Week 2 Wide Receiver Best Bet

Rams WR Brandin Cooks ($6,300 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams vs. New Orleans Saints

Deciding which Rams receiver to play every week can be a bit of a challenge. In Week 1, it was Robert Woods who led the group in fantasy points, catching eight passes for 70 yards in the team's win over the Panthers. But who will likely be the beneficiary of Jared Goff's targets in Week 2 in their matchup against New Orleans?

Look no further than Brandin Cooks, who has had some monster performances against his former team. In 2018, Cooks faced the Saints twice (once in the regular season and once in the playoffs) and combined to catch 13 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown. He should see several targets down the field against a suspect Saints secondary. Cooks is an excellent WR2 play this weekend.

Week 2 Tight End Best Bet

Raiders TE Darren Waller ($3,300 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

NFL Week 2 DFS Top Players and Best Team to Play on Sunday 2

Is this there such a thing as playing too many Raiders in DFS? Not this week as the Kansas City Chiefs simply don’t put up much resistance on defense. That is why Darren Waller at $3,300 on DraftKings is an excellent play.

In his first career start, Waller caught 7 of 8 targets for 70 yards. While he failed to reach the end zone, head coach Jon Gruden has made it known that Waller is there preferred option when they reach the red zone. Given how much Carr loves to throw the ball underneath, Waller could easily see 8-10 targets once again this week.

He should have no problem getting open against Kansas City’s subpar linebacker corps. Waller is a fairly safe tight end play this week at a very modest price.

Week 2 Flex Best Bet

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams ($4,400 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs

If you are considering playing Derek Carr at quarterback this week, it would be wise to play his No. 1 receiver. Tyrell Williams exploded in Antonio Brown's absence in Week 1, catching seven passes for 105 yards and one touchdown. While Williams wouldn't need to replicate that success to return value, it's not unfathomable that he can exceed that production in Week 2.

Kansas City allowed 347 passing yards to Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew last week, and wide receivers D.J. Chark, Chris Conley, and Dede Westbrook combined to catch 15 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns. Williams is better than all three of those receivers, and he should see double-digit targets against Kansas City. At $4,400, Williams is a must-start again in Week 2.
