Next QPR Manager Odds - Gary O'Neil, Richie Wellens in Frame to Replace Marti Cifuentes

Queens Park Rangers appear to be searching for a new manager after their current incumbent, Marti Cifuentes, was placed on gardening leave and is expected to join West Bromwich Albion. QPR had been close to the relegation zone earlier in the season, but the hierarchy stuck by the Spaniard and he steered them clear of trouble.

However, it appears Cifuentes thinks his prospects could be better at West Brom. Football betting sites have now opened a market on the next QPR manager, with a number of familiar names in the frame. The early favourite for the role is Gary O'Neil, who had success with Bournemouth and Wolves in the Premier League. He is, however, also the current favourite for the next Norwich manager job too. Richie Wellens Ready For Step Up to Championship?

He has shown no signs of slowing down in League One, either, winning three Manager of the Month awards in two campaigns and guiding Orient to the brink of the playoffs this season. Ryan Mason Could be in For First Permanent Job

Following two temporary spells in charge of Tottenham in 2021 and 2023, QPR would be Ryan Mason’s first permanent role as a manager. Mason only took control of 13 matches over those two spells, which is probably not enough to get a handle on his level of ability, which is something that could prevent his appointment as QPR probably aren’t in the position to take a chance on their next manager.

Pierre Sage Available After Leaving Lyon

Pierre Sage may not be much of a household name in the UK, but he did a decent job working with Lyon for 15 months before being let go after a poor run of results in January. He may be looking for a first job away from France, and many top betting sites think he could be of interest to QPR. 

It's worth remembering that Cifuentes was a relative unknown in Eruope's big leagues before he took the role at QPR, and he has done a good job at Loftus Road, so it's easy to see why they might look for a similar profile manager this time around.

Would Rob Edwards' Luton Record Interest QPR?

Rob Edwards is another name towards the top of the next QPR manager betting, and with good reason. Previous roles with Forest Green and Luton have seen him secure promotion, which is something QPR will have aspirations of next season. Seeing where Luton are now makes their promotion to the Premier League all the more remarkable, and Edwards was integral in that.

The Welshman has been without a job since early January, and he would be a great acquisition for the R's. His previous success at this level along with managerial experience in the Premier League could make him a very appealing candidate for the role.
