Luton Town 1/16 William Hill

Nottingham Forest were dealt a massive blow when they were deducted four points after being found guilty of falling foul of Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules. However, now most betting sites have them as odds-against finishing in the relegation places, they sit in 17th with 29 points from 36 games, three points ahead of Luton, who sit in the final relegation place. Their 3-1 win over Sheffield United was a huge step towards Premier League survival, as they're now three points clear of it, with a superior goal difference to boot.

Everton found themselves in real danger of relegation after a second points deduction for breaking PSR rules. Despite winning against Burnley, they then suffered a heavy defeat away to Chelsea. The points deduction meant they were just two points above Luton, but they have now guaranteed their safety with a run of three wins in a row, followed by another draw.

Crystal Palace, who appointed Oliver Glasner in place of Roy Hodgson, are guaranteed another season in the Premier League. They are 17 points above the relegation zone and could stay up without picking up another point having won their last three matches. Brentford have picked up eight points from their last five games in the Premier League and now sit 10 points clear of Luton and are safe for another year.

The best betting apps still think it is the two remaining promoted teams who are in dire trouble. Sheffield United are already relegated, with football betting sites also taking a dim view of Burnley's and Luton Town's hopes.

Forest Set for Relegation Dogfight

Nottingham Forest's win against Sheffield United gave their Premier League survival hopes a much-needed boost. They had gained one point from their previous four games and are now just out of the relegation zone after their points deduction. Prior to the win against Sheffield United, they had not won in five games and had been dragged into the relegation scrap.

With a final day showdown with Burnley to come, new betting sites give them a decent chance of staying afloat for another season, but they are still very close to the drop zone. If they were to come out on the wrong side of the results in the match against their fellow strugglers, the situation would look bleak, as they are unlikely to get any points from their other remaining game against Chelsea.

Everton Safe and No Longer in the Betting

Everton were often among the favourites to go down from the Premier League this season, according to the bookies. Despite a combined eight-point deduction for breaking Premier League Financial Fair Play rules, a run of three straight wins now means they are assured of survival. They would in fact be comfortably in 13th place in the league if they hadn't been given the punishment.

Can Luton Perform the Great Escape?

Luton Town have been written off as Premier League no hopers in several quarters, and their plight has looked nigh-on impossible since the preseason. However, the Hatters have been punching above their relative weight all season and still have a chance to climb outside the relegation zone.

The latest relegation odds still suggest that Luton are set to go down, but it's now all on their last 2 matches against West Ham and Fulham. They probably need six points out of six to stand any chance of staying up.

Burnley Odds-On For Drop

The bookmakers afforded Burnley plenty of respect before the 2023/24 campaign began, with Vincent Kompany's side having stormed to the Championship title last term. However, the Clarets lost their opening three Premier League matches, and they have now collected just 24 points from their first 36 games played after what is now looking like a huge defeat to Everton.

Ten of those 24 points have come against fellow promoted teams. They will need to produce winning performances against the other teams around them to have a chance of staying afloat this season.
