It increasingly looked as though we had a Premier League top five this season. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal battled it out for the title, and fourth spot turned into a straight shootout between Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, according to the latest odds from football betting sites

It is now a two-horse race for the final Champions League spot, with Chelsea and Newcastle now too far back to make their way in. Manchester United are out of it too, but Tottenham might also be on the outside looking in after consectuive defeats in London derbies to Arsenal and Chelsea. The Villans are odds-on to finish in the top four with just a handful of games remaining in the Premier League season. Here are the latest Premier League Top 4 odds:

Can Aston Villa Remain in Top Four?

Aston Villa finished seventh in the Premier League last season, with Unai Emery representing an upgrade on Steven Gerrard and steering the team in an upwards direction. The Villans continue to perform at a high level under their Spanish manager. It's no fluke that they sit fourth in the table as they have been an entertaining team all season.

It now appears out of the question that Villa could challenge for the Premier League title this season, although it's more pertinent to talk about the seven-point advantage that is held over Tottenham Hotspur at this stage, but they have played a game more. Emery will hope for Ollie Watkins to stay fit for the run-in considering the England forward is scoring goals for fun this season, although there are lots of other star turns within the squad.

Leon Bailey, Moussa Diaby and Douglas Luiz have all pitched in with their share of goals this season, with John McGinn having an outstanding season for the Midlands club.

Tottenham Still Contenders in Top-Four Market

Tottenham Hotspur fans were bracing themselves for a transitional season, with Ange Postecoglou taking the reins and immediately seeing Harry Kane sign for Bayern Munich and leaving a big hole as a result.

However, the Australian managed to enjoy an extended honeymoon period that saw Spurs take 26 points from their first 10 matches. Although the team then suffered a blip, they've steadied the ship enough to be bang in contention for a top four finish with a few games remaining. Although they have a tough run of fixtures to end the season, and need to win all three remaining games to secure a top four finish.

Manchester United Out of Top-Four Race

Manchester United have experienced a difficult 2023/24 campaign to date. Erik ten Hag has one of the Sack Race betting favourites at different points this season, but remains in charge of the Old Trafford side.

Betting sites were only giving United an outside chance of repeating last season's top-four finish, and the competition appears to be stiff. United are now mathematically out of the running for a top-four spot.
