Tip 1 - 1:20 Sandown - Kientzheim

Victory over this distance at Kempton on Boxing Day marked an impressive start to Kientzheim’s hurdling career in Britain, but a couple of less-than-stellar finishes since then has invited plenty of questions about this five-year-old’s progress. However, she’s a confident hurdler and has shown strong finishes previously so has every chance of getting back on track here.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Sandown - Pic D’orhy

Pic D’orhy might be one of the best campaigned horses in training. Seemingly never over-raced, doesn’t mind dodging a big occasion, and always there to pick up a big prize. His latest victim could be Gaelic Warrior, who put up his one great race for the season just a few weeks ago at Aintree. He always struggles to back up a big performance, and this is a quick turnaround, Pic D’orhy could take advantage yet again.

Tip 3 - 3:00 Sandown - Lucky Place

It’s still too early to know how good Kitzbuhel is, after a pair of comfortable successes in Ireland were followed by a tame effort at Aintree. Preference is for Nicky Henderson’s Lucky Place. This intermediate trip is probably more to his liking than the three miles of the Stayers’ Hurdle. He was up there for a long way at Cheltenham before fading up the hill. This step back in distance should suit, and he looks a solid option.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
