Tip 1 - 2:05 Warwick - Ballygelly

An impressive win at Fakenham over this distance last time out saw Ballygelly beat a 1/9 favourite to claim her first rules win and she has a great chance to back that up today. The seven-year-old’s form prior to that victory was nothing to shout about but perhaps she has found her preferences and if that’s the case, she will be a big threat at tasty odds today.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Beverley - Burning Cash

On form of old, Burning Cash is the class of the field. Questions around whether the seven-year-old still has previous ability and how he will cope on first run for nine months are valid, but his price is too good to ignore. Comes into this off a mark of 81, with all three career handicap victories coming from 91, 93 and 81. While never winning on seasonal reappearance, he has gone close a couple of times and really should be there or thereabouts if he is fit for the race.

Tip 3 - 3:25 Perth - Siberian Star

Siberian Star has been running consistently well in the UK, with form figures of 322 before a disappointing effort over an inadequate trip at Wexford. Jockey Shane Fenelon knows the horse well, and the step back up to three miles should suit. In a race where the majority of the field arrives out of form, he looks primed for a big run for a yard that has sent out three winners from its last seven runners.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
