Tip 1 - 1:45 Newmarket - Aramram

Aramram followed a good ending to 2024 with a strong start to 2025, recording three second-place finishes in each of his three runs so far. The most recent of these came over this course-and-distance – his first turf run of the year - where he lost to today’s favourite More Thunder but has every chance of getting revenge off the same mark today now he’s used to turf again.

Tip 2 - 2:00 Goodwood - Crimson Advocate

Looked in pretty decent nick on seasonal reappearance when losing by a nose in Listed company on the all-weather at Kempton at the end of March. It’s difficult to know what this four-year-old’s ceiling is, having raced just seven times. Winner of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes in 2023 and thought good enough for the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot last year. Since then changed hands to John and Thady Gosden, who know how to get horses ready for big races. She looks set for a big run.

Tip 3 - 3:35 Newmarket - Expanded

Having not won the first classic of the season since 2019, Aidan O’Brien has the chance to start the season on the front foot with Expanded. Horses making their seasonal reappearance in the race have a great recent record, and Expanded can improve on that this year. He was unlucky not to win here in October, just being headed at the finish in a race where soft ground would have blunted his speed. He should gain compensation over Shadow of Light today.

Tip 4 - 3:42 Punchestown - Jade De Grugy

Brighterdaysahead is sure to be a warm order for this race, but her run in the Champion Hurdle in March, along with her yard’s form, is cause for concern. Gordon Elliott sent out 25 runners over the first three days of the Punchestown Festival, with just one winner. Jade De Grugy, from the all-conquering Willie Mullins stable, arrives here on the back of a runner-up finish in the Mares’ Hurdle. With just two runners under her belt this season, she’s much fresher and is fancied to overturn the favourite.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
