Premier League Winner Odds

In addition to providing expert Premier League picks, we're keen to showcase the antepost markets for this popular league. This includes the Premier League Winner market where customers can wager on the team that they expect to be crowned champions come the end of the campaign.

Manchester City have won the title in five of the past six seasons, and they're strong favourites to get the job done this time around. A quintet of wins over Burnley, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Fulham and West Ham mean that the champions are sitting pretty at the top of the table, with Pep Guardiola's side being the only outfit who have their 100% record intact.

At present, it would appear that Arsenal and Liverpool are the only sides who can challenge City for the title this season. Both teams have landed thirteen points from their first five matches, with the Gunners dramatically beating Manchester United before claiming a 1-0 win away to Everton. Jurgen Klopp's side have come from behind three times to land a maximum haul.

In five of the previous six campaigns, Manchester City have been crowned champions, with Liverpool managing to break up the run in the 2019-20 season. It was the Reds who were also hot on the heels of City in the 2018-19 and 2021-22 season before narrowly missing out. More recently, Arsenal led the way for a large chunk of the last campaign before losing touch with Pep Guardiola's relentless side.

Here are the latest Premier League winner odds from the best football betting sites for the 2023/24 season:

Man City Kick Off 2023/24 Campaign With Quintet of Wins

In the end, Manchester City were comfortable winners of the 2022/23 title, with the champions able to leapfrog Arsenal in the run-in and finish five points clear of the Gunners. The best Premier League betting sites installed City as strong favourites to retain their crown before a ball was kicked and their odds have only hardened after a perfect start.

City opened their 2023/24 title defence with a 3-0 win at Burnley before a more slender 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium. They were made to work hard for their 2-1 victory at Bramall Lane, although the fact that the Cityzens are the only team with a 100% record already looks to be ominous for their rivals. A 5-1 win over Fulham saw the champions flex their attacking muscle including Erling Haaland's first hat-trick of the season. The Norwegian was also on target when his City team secured a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium.

It has been a case of quality over quantity for City during the transfer window. Mateo Kovacic has slotted straight into a central midfield position vacated by Ilkay Gundogan, while Croatian Josko Gvardiol is a quality defender who should strengthen what was already a formidable rearguard. Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes have also arrived for transfer fees north of £50 million, with the former on the scoresheet against the Hammers.

Star striker Erling Haaland surpassed expectations in his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium, and many benefitted from Premier League prop bets involving the Norwegian. Jack Grealish, Rodri and John Stones also had excellent seasons, and it's easy to see why the bookies are taking no risks with their quotes on the champions.

Pre-Season Favourites Do Well in Title Race

In the past 11 seasons, the pre-season favourite has won the Premier League title on seven occasions. Manchester City have obliged as odds-on market leaders in the past three seasons, while they were priced as 15/8 favorites when winning their first championship under Pep Guardiola in 2017-18.

Twelve months later, they were victorious as 8/11 favorites and have been a reliable source of income for those placing a season-long wager. Back in the 2013-14 season, Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City claimed the spoils when priced at 23/10, with Chelsea obliging a year later when being sent off at 19/10 to win the title. Follow Mauricio Pochettino's new side this season by visiting our Chelsea stats page for all the up-to-date betting data.

Arsenal Bang in the Title Race After Win at Everton

During the first half of last season, the Gunners lit up the Premier League. The Arsenal stats were so impressive that they were actually title favourites at one stage, with Manchester City breaking up for the 2022 World Cup with a home defeat against Brentford, and there were more dropped points shortly after the action resumed.

However, City demonstrated why they are always among the most solid of Premier League picks, and Mikel Arteta was left to lament the fact that his team were unable to stay the pace. On the flip side, winning 84 points to finish second in the table was a fantastic achievement, and the Spaniard will have learnt a lot from the previous campaign.

We're likely to see another title challenge from Arsenal this season, with the Gunners kicking off with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest in their first game and a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the second. They were denied a maximum haul by Fulham when drawing 2-2 with the Cottagers, although a 3-1 win over Manchester United felt significant before the international break and the same applied to a 1-0 triumph at Goodison Park.

Declan Rice has improved the team, although they are regarded as unlikely to overhaul Manchester City right now. The best new betting sites trimmed the team's title odds over the summer and they continue to operate at single figure odds, although they need to keep winning in order to hang on to the coat tails of the champions.

Manchester United Written Off For the Title

Manchester United are already nine points behind Manchester City in the Premier League standings. While fixtures away to Tottenham and Arsenal are among the most difficult, these dropped points along with a 3-1 home defeat against Brighton means that the bookies have already written off their title chances.

The Red Devils began the season with a fortunate win over Wolves, and their other victory saw them come back from two goals down against Nottingham Forest. There have been issues at both ends of the pitch despite the arrivals of Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojland. The latter has barely featured since his big-money arrival from Atalanta because of injury, while other marquee signing Mason Mount has either been injured or underwhelming.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season, Manchester United were being regarded as a team who could challenge for the Premier League title although there is a growing list of injured players including Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane.

The bookies are far from convinced by this team in relation to the title,  with United as big as 100/1 to finish top of the table this season. Alejandro Garnacho could have stolen the points at the Emirates before the international break but the cruel nature of football saw the Argentine's effort chalked off for offside before Arsenal swung the game the other way. There was more VAR bad fortune against Brighton when Hojland's goal was chalked off.

Ten Hag didn't take long to turn the ship around last term, with the Dutchman recovering quickly from a bad start to steer the Red Devils into the top four, and the team remained in the Champions League spots throughout the campaign.

Ten Hag has been backed in the transfer market although the betting apps are now dismissive of their title chances and it could be a battle for United to secure a place in the top four of the Premier League again this season.

Will Liverpool Challenge City for Title Again?

Liverpool began the season with a 1-1 draw at Chelsea but four consecutive victories have seen their title odds shorten. They came from behind to defeat Bournemouth and Newcastle before producing their most accomplished performance of the season to defeat Aston Villa by a 3-0 scoreline. A comeback win at Wolves means that thirteen points represents a very satisfactory outcome, and perhaps the Reds can return to being title challengers.

Dominik Szoboszlai was off the mark against the Villans, and the Hungarian £60 million signing has adjusted quickly to life in the Premier League, with Alexis Mac Allister also an ever-present for the Reds in the opening matches. There is also strength in depth when it comes to the Liverpool bench, with Wataru Endo, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo all making substitute appearances against Villa.

Few expected Liverpool to finish outside the Premier League top four last season, with Jurgen Klopp's side stuttering through the first few months of the campaign and their away form was particularly suspect. Despite a strong end to the campaign, the Reds missed out on Champions League qualification, but we shouldn't forget that the Merseyside team have been the main title rivals to Manchester City in the past few seasons.

Liverpool registered 92 points in the 2021/22 season, finishing just a point behind the champions. There was also that amazing 2019/20 season, which saw Klopp steer the Reds to the title with a phenomenal 99 points, with the German now looking to build a new-look side that can once again rival City.

Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez are five reasons why we should expect this Liverpool team to rack up the goals this term, while the transformation of Trent Alexander-Arnold from right-back to central midfielder could also reap dividends.

Can Newcastle Still Challenge for the Title?

Newcastle United were a team on fire when beating Aston Villa 5-1 in their Premier League opener. The manner of this victory against strong opponents suggested that the Magpies could end up challenging for the title. However, Eddie Howe's side were brought down to earth with a bump thanks to consecutive defeats against Manchester City, Liverpool and Brighton before a win over Brentford.

The 1-0 reverse at the Etihad Stadium was clearly no disgrace, although losing to 10-man Merseyside opponents after taking an early lead was a more bitter pill to swallow. The Tyneside outfit were then undone by an Evan Ferguson hat-trick, with Brighton subjecting them to a 3-1 defeat that leaves them well adrift of the leading teams. The football betting sites take a dim view that they will be able to challenge for the title.

It's still early days as far as the season is concerned. If the Premier League title race is going to be a more open one this season, that could play into the hands of Newcastle United. Eddie Howe performed a minor miracle to steer the Magpies to a top-four finish last season, and there will now be a determination to build on that lofty finish.

While the Tyneside outfit were strong favourites to overcome Aston Villa in their EPL opener, few predicted that they would triumph by an emphatic 5-1 scoreline, with Alexander Isak scoring twice as Newcastle ran riot. New signing Sandro Tonali looked the part and this season might also see Anthony Gordon come to the fore in a big way.

The betting sites still regard Newcastle as big title outsiders and they will bid to get back on the winning trail after the international break when the fixtures become easier. There was a 1-0 win over Brentford and now a winnable trip to Bramall Lane, although there are also upcoming Champions League encounters against Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea Will Need Another Season to Challenge for Title

There has been over £1 billion spent on players at Chelsea Football Club in the past twelve months, with owner Todd Boehly having completely transformed the squad. After a splurge of January signings, we've seen plenty of new faces this summer, with Christopher Nkunku (£52m, RB Leipzig), Nicolas Jackson (£31.7m, Villarreal)  Lesley Ugochukwu (£23m, Rennes), Axel Disasi (£38.7m, Monaco), Robert Sanchez (£25m, Brighton), Moises Caicedo (£100m, Brighton) and Romeo Lavia (£53m, Southampton) all arriving.

However, it will take time for new manager Mauricio Pochettino to build a winning team at Chelsea. This was in evidence at the London Stadium when the Blues lost 3-1 to West Ham, while they were unable to make the majority of possession count against Nottingham Forest when being turned over by one goal.

Indeed, the only team that Chelsea have beaten so far is Luton Town. A double from Raheem Sterling helped the Blues secure a facile win over the Hatters, with Jackson also breaking his duck for the west London club. The bookmakers haven't seen anything to suggest that Pochettino will have the team challenging Manchester City, despite capturing Cole Palmer from the champions on transfer deadline day.

It was a car crash last season for Chelsea who started with Thomas Tuchel as manager. Graham Potter then replaced him before being fired and Frank Lampard finished off in caretaker charge of the first team. Pochettino has now reshaped the squad although we've seen Nkunku and Reece James sidelined with injury and this could be a transitional season for a club who are building for the future.

There could be big seasons for Levi Colwill and Raheem Sterling ahead, with both players aiming to get into the England squad for Euro 2024, while Ben Chilwell and Reece James' inclusion depends on their continuing fitness. It's highly likely that Poch needs more than one season to assemble a title-winning team despite the expectation levels being sky high at Stamford Bridge. For starters, a top-four spot would go some way to appeasing the owner and supporters.

Nevertheless, Antonio Conte won the Premier League title during his first season at the club, and there's little doubt that there's a talented squad capable of winning plenty of games next term. If the title race is a more open one, then perhaps we might expect Chelsea to be one of the sides challenging.

Can Anyone Repeat Leicester City’s 5000/1 Success?

Several years later, it’s still hard to believe that Leicester City were able to produce a miracle by winning the 2015-16 Premier League title. The Foxes were regarded as relegation contenders that season, with some bookmakers prepared to offer 5000/1 that Claudio Ranieri’s side were able to finish in top spot.

As the season wore on, it was clear that Leicester could challenge for the Champions League places, although it took a long time for the bookmakers to install them as favorites before they ended up winning the Premier League by over 10 points. Keep an eye on how the Foxes might perform in the Championship next season by checking out Bookies' Leicester stats section.

How to Bet on the Premier League Winner

Despite Leicester’s amazing success that season, it is generally the teams at the head of the market who end up competing for the big prize. Manchester City are testament to that fact after winning five of the past six Premier League titles, although Arsenal outperformed their title odds last season and rewarded each-way backers who took a chance on the Gunners. Stay ahead of the game by bookmarking our Premier League betting page.

However, this is a betting market that is updated after each game has been played. Therefore, you can not only wager antepost but also bet later in the season, while there are also alternative markets including the Premier League Top Four and Premier League Relegation.
