We're not expecting much of a battle from the hosts on Saturday afternoon when they come face-to-face with title favourites Chelsea.
This could prove to be the most one-sided match of the season to date. Chelsea have slipped up a couple of times in the top flight this season and they will be eager to avoid any more this weekend.
They won’t be too concerned about that however. Aston Villa are pretty dreadful this term and with just eleven goals scored in their 23 Premier League games so far, we’re not expecting any threat to the Chelsea goal in this encounter.
Nevertheless, the Blues were somewhat disappointing in their last top flight clash, failing to threaten the Manchester City goal after Loic Remy scored the opening goal on 41 minutes. A win in that match would have given the reigning champions a huge mountain to climb in order to regain their crown and Mourinho will be desperate for a win at Villa Park which could open up the gap should City suffer a surprise defeat at home to Hull City.
Indeed, it is little surprise to see Chelsea start this match as overwhelming odds-on favourites. A price of 4/11 for an away win represents no value whatsoever and despite the fact that Chelsea can be backed with complete confidence, we’ll be looking for some better value elsewhere.
The most obvious starting point is a Chelsea win-to-nil. Aston Villa have scored less than any other top flight side by a huge margin and Evens for a Chelsea win and a clean sheet is something we’ll certainly be going for.
We’re expecting several Blues players to get their names onto the scoresheet on Saturday, which leads us onto Loic Remy. The French international opened the scoring against Manchester City last weekend and in the absence of suspended Diego Costa, he looks excellent value at 5/4 with Boylesports to score at any point of this match.
We really can’t look past Chelsea in this game. Aston Villa look devoid of any ideas this season and the Blues will find little opposition at Villa Park this weekend.
