Blackburn Rovers v Stoke City betting preview – Potters will prove too strong for Rovers

Stoke can go through to the last eight tomorrow

A confident Blackburn Rovers will be severely put to the test by a strong Stoke City side at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon.

Inconsistency has been the key word for Blackburn’s season so far, however they have performed well in the FA Cup, beating Premier League side Swansea City 3-1 in the fourth round of the competition. They will be similarly confident of claiming another top-flight scalp when Stoke City come to town.

The Rovers are some ten points adrift of the Championship play-offs and their ambitions will likely rest with this cup competition, however they will certainly be looking to cause problems for a Stoke City rearguard which has been defensively suspect this season.

Indeed, the Potters conceded four against Manchester City in their midweek Premier League match and will almost certainly concede against a Rovers side which scored three against the Swans in the last round of the competition.

Nevertheless, Stoke have been having a relatively successful season and sit in a respectable mid-table position in the Premier League. We feel that they will continue their decent form into this match.

Indeed, the Potters sit ten points adrift of the top six and realistically this competition presents them with the only chance of any silverware this season, therefore a strong side will be fielded which will send Blackburn out of the competition.

Regarding goalscorers, Peter Crouch has scored in the last two outings and as such we expect him to hit the back of the net in a Stoke City win at 2/1 with Bet365.
