It’s time once again for everyone’s favorite birdie-fest in golf betting. The 2021 John Deere Classic gets underway this week at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois after the annual Tour stop was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
It’s a pretty sparse field ahead of next week’s British Open at Royal St George’s, with most A-listers opting to rest up or head across the pond early for this week’s Scottish Open.
Looking at the golf odds, Daniel Berger is the betting favorite at +1100 with DraftKings after logging a T-7 in his most recent start at the U.S. Open. Brian Harman is next at +1300 at the same site, while Sungjae Im is third at +1600. Im is skipping the British Open to focus on the upcoming Olympics, where the South Korean could earn an exemption from mandatory two-year military service by winning a medal.
Russell Henley (+2000) and Kevin Streelman (+2500) round out the top five on the betting board at most sports betting sites.

John Deere Classic Expert Prediction
Scott Stallings, Top-10 Finish
Odds: +850 at FanDuel
Stallings hit it well at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, ranking sixth in Strokes Gained Approach among players who made the cut. He also showed he can go low and compete with a T-3 at the Byron Nelson in May, finishing 21-under-par for the tournament.
Stallings has performed well at TPC Deere Run in recent years. He’s been inside the top 20 in three of his last four John Deere starts, including a T-5 in 2017. We like him to make another run this week and are on him for a top-10 finish.

John Deere Classic Betting Tips
We know what to expect each year at TPC Deere Run, and that helps us when it comes to examining the odds at the top sportsbooks and betting apps. It's typically low scores and birdies galore as a tune-up before the final major of the season. We can rely heavily on course history this week as not much has changed since the Tour last came through in 2019.
The fairways are generous and the course is relatively short, so distance isn’t a big factor this week. You can feel comfortable taking bunters around here as long as the rest of their game is in form. Strokes Gained Approach is usually the best indicator of John Deere success, and you definitely want guys who are comfortable going low. Grinding out pars around here will lead to a missed cut.
