Wild Card Weekend of the 2025 NFL Playoffs concludes with a rematch on Monday Night Football, as Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams take on Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings. The game was relocated to Arizona from Sofi Field due to the Los Angeles wildfires. 

The Rams bested the Vikings 30-20 at SoFi in Week 7 on a Thursday night. But this will be at a neutral site, and Minnesota has just one loss since that game. 

The latest Vikings vs. Rams NFL odds has Minnesota at -2.5, from -1 earlier in the week. The Ove3r/Under is 48 points.

Stafford went off four a season-best four TDs and with his full array of weapons, he is in line for another big game. 

This is Sam Darnold’s first postseason start. Last week was a big litmus test for him and the Vikings as a whole, and it ended humbly. The Rams defense is playing as well as any unit in the league right now. The Vikings lead the NFL in takeaways but Stafford has one INT in his last seven games, and hasn’t thrown two picks in any game. We’ll take the points with the Rams. 

Vikings vs. Rams Over/Under

Prior to a meaningless Week 18, the Rams defense had given up single-digits in the last three, while the offense stayed under 20 in each. 

That’s the gameplan for L.A. – defense and the occasional big play to keep the Vikings’ D honest. Minnesota has the ability to score in bunches, but on the season averages a TD less on the road this season. We’ll side with the Under as our top play for Monday night.

Hockenson has been up and down to wild degrees in his 10 games this season, held to under 30 yards four times but over 65 yards three times. The Rams ranked dead-last in covering tight ends this season, however, and if Darnold gets rattled by the Rams’ pressure – which is likely to happen – Hockenson can be a capable security blanket.

Stafford hasn’t even thrown for 200 yards in three straight games, and all were wins. But he did toss for 279 and completed 73.5% of his passes against this Vikings defense, which incidentally ranks No. 3 in fewest rush yards allowed. The best course of action for L.A. could be to put the ball in the hands of its leader, who has eclipsed 240 yards in 50% of his games this season.
