Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Do be aware that betting on horse racing is difficult to win consistently, that’s why we only use the best analysts and tipsters in the UK and Ireland to give their advice on this page. Previous performance is no guarantee of future success and you should only bet with what you can afford to lose.

Tip 1 - 1:35 Catterick - Halpha Soleil

Micky Hammond has won the last two runnings of this race, and appears to have a strong hand again with Halpha Soleil. The 8yo has taken well to fences, jumping solidly on his first two starts over the larger obstacles, but not looking entirely wound up following a six-month break. With those runs under his belt, he should be spot on for this. Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle is another big plus.

Tip 2 - 2:45 Lingfield - Passing Well

Unexposed at these marathon trips, Passing Well has looked like he has enjoyed his last few races when upped to around three miles. He has stuck to his task and seems to relish the slightly slower pace on offer in the middle of the race. He does obviously have to prove his stamina for the extra distance today, but if he can there is headroom in his mark to pick up the prize.

Tip 3 - 2:58 Newcastle – Pallas Lord

A three time course-and-distance winner here, Pallas Lord has been in a barren run of late with nothing to show for in each of his last eight outings but can get back in the winner’s circle for the first time since March 2024. His mark of 56 is his lowest in almost a year when he won three in a row at Newcastle, and his most recent run here three weeks ago offered plenty of encouragement despite finishing fourth.

Tip 4 - 3:05 Catterick - Jessmae

This is going to be a decent slog on soft ground, and while Cave Article looks like the main danger, it is Jessmae who we think has plenty more in the tank for a pretty unexposed seven-year-old. Has only two chases to his name and placed in both, with the latest half a furlong shorter. The winner in the Market Rasen second is rated 99 now, while the winner in the Southwell third has gone in again since and is rated over 100. Jessmae was less than two lengths back that day and should have the stamina from his pointing days to make a mark of 80 look tiny.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch.
