Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 1:30 Punchestown - Splashing Out

Splashing Out steps into handicap company, and on her form from novice runs she doesn’t look to be too badly treated. Completely unexposed at the trip, she could get a nice spin round if her jumping improves for the slower pace of this longer distance she is attempting. Her chase mark is 5lb lower than her hurdles one, so the headroom is there to take advantage of.

Tip 2 - 1:40 Southwell – Finn Lough

After being pulled up early in his last outing, Finn Lough can make amends here and add to his impressive chasing record, which boasts a win and three seconds in just six races. His win at Doncaster at the back end of last year came at a grade higher and over the same distance as today, so there’s no reason this six-year-old won’t be in the reckoning again.

Tip 3 - 3:30 Carlisle - Haarar

The two protagonists at the top of the betting do look like they will pose problems, but the conditions could be in favour enough to see a big run out of six-year-old Haarar. Has a decent record of two wins and three further places from eight hurdles races and should have plenty of speed between the obstacles having campaigned on the flat a fair amount. It feels like the step back down to 2m1 over hurdles is ideal, and with Haarar getting over a stone on Kalium, he could be the one to watch.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
