The NFL betting season continues in Week 3 with an important showdown in Big D - for all the wrong reasons.

The Baltimore Ravens visit the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry World in the national game of the week on FOX. Or it could be called "The National Game of the Weak."

The 0-2 Ravens have been unable to do anything on offense besides running behind Lamar Jackson. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have gotten their bags. Now it's time to deliver in the regular season and the postseason.

The week begins with the New England Patriots visiting the Jets in New Jersey. This is the only prime-time game for the Patriots on the schedule this season.

The Monday night double-header returns on ESPN and ABC. Jacksonville visits Buffalo in the opener, starting at 7:30. The ABC game at 8:15 features the Commanders at the Bengals.

2024 NFL Week 3 Best Bets To Back Today

NFL Week 3 Picks, Betting Predictions & Best Bets To Back Today 1

Thursday, September 19th

New England Patriots at New York Jets, 8:15 p.m. (Prime Video)

Buzz: The Patriots have tried to adopt a simple game plan in the post-Bill Belichick Era. Run the ball. Play defense. Execute on special teams. Unfortunately, when you're unable to throw the ball, mistakes can't happen. New England had far too many in Sunday's 23-20 OT home loss to Seattle. Not to mention 6 three-and-outs. Aaron Rodgers had a nice get-right game Sunday against the Tiny Titans. The Jets should finally get things in gear at home against New England. But this line is still a bit too wide. Especially for two teams still struggling to find themselves.

Best Bet: Patriots +6.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Sunday, September 22

New York Giants at Cleveland Browns, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Giants continue to seek an edge in the race for the No. 1 pick. Sunday, they scored 3 TDs more than their opponent but managed to lose to a team (Washington) that kicked 7 field goals. If you can kick field goals, please report to Met Life Stadium today. Graham Gano's immediate future is questionable. The Giants have lost 8 of 9 on the road. Meanwhile, Brian Daboll's seat continues to get warmer. The Giants are stuck with Daniel Jones. The Browns found a team in worse shape than themselves in Jacksonville in Week 2. And they've covered in 6 of 7 at home. Even more surprising is that the Brownies have gone over the point total in 5 of 6.

Best Bet: Over 38.5 Points  (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Green Bay Packers at Tennessee Titans, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The 0-2 Titans have lost both games by a 24-17 score. But they've look far worse those numbers have indicated. The Packers impressed at home behind QB Malik Willis and Josh Jacobs running the ball all day Sunday in beating Indy. Jacobs carried the ball 32 times for 151 yards. The Titans have lost 5 of 6 outright, and the Packers have covered in 5 of 6. Tough to buck both of those trends.

Best Bet: Packers ML (+114) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Eagles have turned the page on their Super Bowl hangover from last year. A healthy flock of Eagles this season could spell trouble for the rest of the NFC East, if not the conference. The Saints demolished Dallas Sunday. Derek Carr lit up the Cowboys. He'll face a far more stout defense this week. Even though the Caesars Superdome crowd will be deafening. The Saints led the NFL in scoring, at 45.5 PPG. The Eagles defense is coming off a Monday night game.

Best Bet: Over 48.5 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Bears defense could pose a real problem for Indy QB Anthony Richardson, who is making just his 7th NFL start. The Bears are riding with rookie QB Caleb Williams, who still has much room on the learning curve. The Colts hold a slight edge here. The Bears held Houston and C.J. Stroud to 19 points in Week 2. But they're struggling to score. We'll lean on the under here.

Best Bet: Under 44.5 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Texans are becoming the Detroit Lions of the AFC. Oddsmakers have noticed. This line opened at Houston -4.5 but moved to -2.5 after the Vikings upset San Francisco in Week 2. The trend lines favor Minnesota here. Sam Darnold showed some flash Sunday, but keep an eye on Justin Jefferson's status. He said he's fine after an quad injury in Week 2. The trend lines point toward Minnesota. The Vikings are on a 5-0 roll vs. the Texans. We think that ends on Sunday.

Best Bet: Texans -2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Denver Broncos at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: We locked this one in at Tampa Bay -5.5. before Week 2. The number has since moved to 7. The Buccaneers are on a collision course with New Orleans for NFC South supremacy and possible NFC title game at home after beating Detroit on the road Sunday. Tampa Bay's defense at home against a rookie QB usually spells doom for the visitors. Baker Mayfield has his 2 favorite targets back in Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. This one should be a clinic for the home team, especially in a Tampa Bay sauna. The Buccaneers have covered the spread in 4 of their past 5 games.

Best Bet: Buccaneers -7 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

LA Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Jim Harbaugh's Chargers have a tough early East Coast game at Pittsburgh. But they didn't head back to the West Coast after their win at Carolina. Mike Tomlin keeps running the same playbook. And it keeps working. The 2-0 Steelers' defense will carry the day here. But don't take the cheese on that total. The total on this one is down to 36.5. That's loss in a 20-17 game. It's too soon to go this low. Stick with hometown team and -2.5 points.

Best Bet: Steelers -2.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Carolina Panthers at Las Vegas Radiers, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: The Panthers and Giants are in mad dash for 0-17 and the top overall pick. This is sort of game in which you say: "When in doubt, bet the under." No reason to sweat two terrible teams trying to cover. Especially after the Raiders won their Super Bowl at Baltimore in Week 2. The Panthers have failed to go over the point totals in 5 straight against AFC teams and have lost 10 straight on the road. A shutout in a real possibility here.

Best Bet: Under 38 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

Buzz: Both teams are heading west this week, but the Dolphins will have a bit of a head start, having played Thursday night. The status of Tua Tagovailoa remains the story to watch here. The Seahawks escaped from New England with a 23-20 OT win Sunday. The Dolphins had problems even with Tua behind center. The Dolphins are on an 0-7 ATS as favorites and have lost 4 of 5 straight up. We locked in Seattle +1 before Week 2. This line has since moved to Seattle -5.5, meaning oddsmakers are not optimistic about a Tua return.

Best Bet: Seahawks -5.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: This game is being billed as the Fox National Game of the Week. It's more like the game of the weak. It's also Tom Brady's third game in row calling the Cowboys. By the 4th quarter, Brady himself may be ready to suit up. This game opened at Baltimore +1, it's since flipped to Dallas +1 after the whipping delivered at Jerry World on Sunday. The Cowboys are bereft on defense. The Saints scored TDs on their first 6 drives. And average on offense. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott is missing open receivers. The Ravens, meanwhile, cannot produce any points. At least Lamar Jackson can score. The Ravens are 9-0 straight up against NFC opponents. And they've covered in 8 of 10 after a loss. This is a terrific get-right game for the Ravens on both sides.

Best Bet: Ravens ML (-113) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: The Lions are quickly becoming one of those road team who seem to have a home game each week. This one will be no exception. Expect the State Farm Stadium to be rocking in blue and silver. The Lions got smashed in the face by Tampa Bay in a 20-16 Week 2 loss. Jared Goff went full Jared Goff. And you can't go full Jared Goff. Meanwhile, the Cardinals tore up the Rams at home in the most impressive win of Jonathan Gannon's tenure. Kyler Murray had a perfect passer rating agains the Rams. The Lions can still play defense. They sacked Baker Mayfield 5 times and forced a fumble against the Bucs. Murray won't have a perfect passer rating this week. He could be in for a long day. The Lions were 5-1 as road favorites last season. This line has moved in their favor, as well.

Best Bet: Lions -3 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

San Francisco 49ers are LA Rams, 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

Buzz: SoFi Stadium has become home turf for the 49ers. San Francisco is playing for keeps this season and desperately needs an NFC West win here. The 49ers covered 66% of the time as road favorites last season. Defense usually travels well - unless its facing Justin Jefferson. Here, it's only going 400 miles to another "home" site. We locked in the 49ers at -4.5 before Week 2. Normally, the over in Rams-49ers game would be a no-brainer. But the Rams could well be without WR Cooper Kupp (ankle), in addition to WR Puka Nacua, who has landed on IR. The 49ers are without Christian McCaffrey. A rock fight in Englewood.

Best Bet: Under 45.5 Points (-108) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons, 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

Buzz: The Chiefs needed some help from Park Avenue to slip past Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Week 2. Patrick Mahomes threw 2 picks, but still won. However, he lost Isiah Pacheco (who ran for 90 yards and caught 5 balls) for the duration in doing so. Without Pacheco, that will put more pressure and focus on Travis Kelce. The Falcons, however, might not be a position to capitalize on it. Especially after facing the Eagles on Monday night.

Best Bet: Chiefs -4.5 (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Monday, September 23

Jacksonville Jaguars at Buffalo Bills, 7:30 pm. (ESPN)

Buzz: A Monday night game in Buffalo. After a Thursday night game. That's a mini-bye. The table-smashing begins at dawn. Expect this crowd to be loud and lubricated long before kickoff. The Jaguars are 0-2 despite giving up just 19 PPG. Trevor Lawrence has been unable to get his offense moving. The Jaguars on an 0-6 slide against the AFC. No reason for that to change at Buffalo. Josh Allen is on a heater this season. He’s 31-of-42 passes for 371 yards, 3 TDs and no picks. James Cook, meanwhile, has found a new home in the end zone after scoring 3 times against Miami.

Best Bet: Bills -6 (-113) with DraftKings Sportsbook

Washington Commanders at Cincinnati Benglas, 8:15 p.m (ABC)

Buzz: The Bengals could have beaten the Chiefs in Week 2. They should have beaten the Chiefs in Week 2. But they didn't. Still, Cincy's defense kept them in the game until Park Avenue bailed out the Swifties with another questionable call on KC's final drive. Commanders rookie QB Jayden Daniels won't get reprieve against the Bengals. 0-2 starts are nothing new for Joe Burrow's boys. But they'll get that elusive first victory of the season here. An 8-point cover is bit too much to ask for on the road.

Best Bet: Under 47.5 Points (-110) with DraftKings Sportsbook
