Can Liverpool Win on Multiple Fronts in 2023/24?

Liverpool had a disappointing 2022-23 season. The Reds were never in the Premier League title race after dropping too many points in their first few games, while they were unable to retain the two domestic cup trophies that they had won in the previous campaign. In Europe, the Merseyside outfit were handsomely beaten by Real Madrid and ended up finishing fifth domestically.

However, there is plenty of optimism this season heading into the New Year, and perhaps we'll see Jurgen Klopp's side making a big statement. The Merseyside outfit look like Premier League title contenders and currently enjoy a two-point cushion over champions Manchester City but have played one game more, while they are also warm favourites to win the Europa League with most betting sites, and the stiffest competition could come in the form of Bayer Leverkusen and Milan. Ironically, it could be the current Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, who ends up as the next Liverpool manager.

At the beginning of the season, you could have secured odds of 1500/1 with the best betting apps that the Reds landed a quadruple, but that price has shrunk to 48/1 after a strong first half to the Premier League season and a comfortable passage in the Europa League.

The Reds are also into the final of the EFL Cup, with football betting sites pricing up the Wembley final against Chelsea for the first piece of silverware of the season. The Reds have safely seen off Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup and will face Southampton in the fifth round.

Can Liverpool Land Cup Treble This Season?

There's no doubt Liverpool are effective as a team in the cup competitions, with Unibet making them a 16/1 chance to secure the Europa League title along with the two domestic pots. They were able to land both the League Cup and FA Cup two seasons ago by beating Chelsea in the respective finals in penalty shootouts.

The Reds are favourites with betting sites to win the EFL Cup ahead of the final against Chelsea and have Championship opponents in the form of Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Europa League looks altogether more winnable after winning their group, and the bookies make the Reds the standout team who remain in the competition. It's certainly a competition Liverpool will take seriously despite the fact the current campaign is just a hiatus from the Champions League.

Liverpool Determined to Challenge for Title

Liverpool never got going in the Premier League last season. It was clear from an early stage that a title assault was unlikely, and the team were especially poor away from Anfield, where wins were scarce. Things did improve towards the end of the 2022/23 season and some strong form saw the Reds come close to qualifying for the Champions League.

However, there will be hope that Liverpool can not only land a top-four spot this season but actually challenge Manchester City for the title. They were crowned champions in 2019/20 and have run Pep Guardiola's side close on several other occasions, with Klopp hoping that his attacking department is able to fire home the goals needed for success.

Mohamed Salah has helped Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table, and 54 points from 24 games is a very solid return. Much now depends on whether they can keep Manchester City at bay, with the two teams scheduled to meet in what could be a title decider in March.
