Manchester City were favourites to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup this season with football betting sites. until this weekend's draw with Arsenal left City second favourites for the title behind Liverpool. Can they land another historic treble?

Pep Guardiola's side achieved this feat last term including a first-ever Champions League success, and betting sites think more silverware could be coming their way even if their standards haven't been quite as high this term as of yet.

City currently sit second in the Premier League standings between Liverpool and Arsenal after a 1-1 draw at Anfield, 0-0 draw at the Etihad against the Gunners and a 4-1 win over Aston Villa. They traditionally produce a strong finish to campaigns, having won the title in five of the past six seasons. They are also into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The bookies still have the Cityzens as Premier League favourites, with the north-west giants recently welcoming Kevin De Bruyne back from injury.

Football betting sites also have City at the head of the FA Cup outright betting, particularly after overcoming Tottenham in the fourth round and Liverpool being knocked out in the quarter-finals.

Betting apps have plenty of odds on Manchester City winning multiple trophies, with customers currently able to land 7/2 that this impressive team land a domestic double.

Can Manchester City Be Kings of Europe Again?

Manchester City were the perennial Champions League bridesmaids under Pep Guardiola, although the club were able to break their duck when beating Inter Milan in the 2023 final. Previous to this, they were able to overcome Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, with the bookies installing them as favourites to win the 2023/24 competition.

However, the latest Champions League odds suggest that Manchester City are more likely to miss out on this piece of silverware than actually conquer Europe again. While they are regarded as the team most likely to win the Champions League, their odds suggest it's probable that another team will be lifting this trophy next May.

Betting sites are happy to lay odds of around 15/8 that the Cityzens are successful in Europe this term, and that implies around a 33% probability of success. Indeed, while City have proved far too strong for the likes of Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys and RB Leipzig, tougher battles lie ahead. They are now into the quarter-finals after disposing of Copenhagen in the last 16.

Will Man City Secure a Domestic Double This Season?

New betting sites no longer have Manchester City as odds-on favourites to be champions again this season, but there were plenty of dropped points during the first half of the season. The champions have failed to win four games at the Etihad Stadium after being held to draws by Crystal Palace, Liverpool, Tottenham Chelsea.

There have also been dropped points in four away games, with City trailing leaders Liverpool by just one point at the time of writing. It appears as though these two teams will be battling it out for the title, although Arsenal might also have a say in matters.

Being champions of England has become a regular occurrence for City, who will look to fend off the challenge of Liverpool and Arsenal this season, while they will also look to be successful in the FA Cup once again. The draw was kind to the holders last season after being paired with Sheffield United at the semi-final stage, although they have a trip to Tottenham in this season's fourth round.

It could be that teams such as Chelsea and Brighton look to win this particular piece of silverware, with the former now having Mauricio Pochettino in charge, and he will want to win a trophy in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

Can Liverpool or Arsenal End City's Premier League Dominance?

Only Liverpool have stopped Manchester City landing the Premier League title in the past six seasons, with the Reds ending a 30-year drought in the 2019/20 season when storming to a success. Jurgen Klopp's side could only finish fifth last term, although they have started the current campaign brightly and lead the way at the top of the standings.

Jurgen Klopp's team have banked an outstanding return of 67 points from 29 games played. The only defeats have been away to Tottenham after being reduced to nine men before conceding a late winner and on the road against Arsenal, with the bookies respecting their chances of becoming champions.

There's also Arsenal, who have a chance of usurping City. The bookies make them a 5/2 chance to claim the title after missing out to Manchester City by five points last season.

Could Man City Fail to Land Any Silverware?

It's a wild notion, but there's a chance that Manchester City might go from treble winners to having a potless season. There are no guarantees in football, especially in knockout competitions as City have previously found to their cost in the Champions League.

There's the obvious threat from La Liga teams such as Real Madrid and Barcelona in that competition, while there are any number of Premier League sides who are aiming for a title challenge this term.

When it comes to the English domestic cups, City tend to field weakened teams during the early rounds, and they were beaten by Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, while they are not certain to progress in the FA Cup now that they have been drawn away to Tottenham at the fourth round stage.
