Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 12:40 Cheltenham - Billytherealbigred

The top two in the market look like they might be in the grip of the handicapper now, so we will side with the progressive five-year-old Billytherealbigred. He has been set alight since going over fences, winning impressively on both starts. Up 7lb for a four-length win last time out, but that could underestimate him. He jumped left throughout which won’t be an issue going this way round, and made an error at the last so was probably good value for further.

Tip 2 - 1:30 Doncaster – Stormin Crossgales

A C&D winner here as recently as December, Stormin Crossgales still has plenty left in the tank to spring a surprise on his Class 2 debut after romping to victory in a Class 3 outing at Southwell earlier this month. This race certainly represents a tougher test for the eight-year-old, especially carrying a 5lb penalty from that win, but he has what it takes to hang with market favourites Nells Son and General Medrano.

Tip 3 - 1:50 Cheltenham - Imperial Saint

Some decent sorts in this race, particularly ones who know how to get up the hill at Cheltenham, but Philip Hobbs’ seven-year-old Imperial Saint looks well worth a go at the current prices on debut at Prestbury Park. Aside from a poor outing at Newbury in November, he has taken to chasing like a duck to water and last time out beat 142-rated Richmond Lake by over six lengths. Up seven pounds to 144 seems generous and should have stamina for days over a 2m4f trip having won over three miles when pointing.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).

The best place is always on the racecourse but that’s not very practical so when it’s not on terrestrial TV with the likes of Sky Sports Racing and ITV (or ITV 4) then the best way to get instant access to live pictures is with a live streaming bookmaker – try these three below for the best of the bunch.
