Each selection is advised as a single bet, and at a straight £10 win single per horse, unless otherwise stated.

Tip 1 - 2:20 Hexham - Pop The Question

The market is likely to be informative, but Pop The Question with Brian Hughes on board intrigues on handicap debut. Won on rules race debut on this course in June and followed up with some pretty poor results. Was never involved at Perth nor Uttoxeter, though the latter was a hot race with three of the five finishing ahead of her winning since. Steps up in trip but should have no trouble with it having won over three miles in point-to-points. Feels like she’ll either go close or fall out the back of the screen, either way it’ll be worth a watch.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Gowran Park - Storm Steps e/w

This is a classic, big-field Irish handicap hurdle. It’s packed with horses completely out of form, some of which have never shown much on a racecourse and are likely to improve at some point. A chance is taken on Pat Martin’s Storm Steps. It’s been a couple of years since he’s shown any spark either on the flat or over hurdles, but a jump rating of 85 could be within range, considering his peak flat mark was 72. There’s a chance he could but out of love with the game, but at the prices, it’s worth hoping first time blinkers bring about a return to form.

Tip 3 - 2:47 Ascot - Wonderful Eagle

Off the back of a spin over hurdles, duel campaigner Wonderful Eagle arrives here in great form. Only raised 2lb for his last win, he has real possibilities to win his fourth race in five attempts. He has shown he can stay longer trips and can handle the heavy ground. Two miles on heavy will be a real stamina test, and there won’t be many here who can handle it.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
