Tip 1 - 2:00 Gowran Park - Whywhywhy Delilah

There’s been a flood of money for Rebel Lily, who has been sent off at a triple digit price in her last three runs and was beaten 20 or more lengths in each of them. Her being towards the top of the betting probably tells the story of this race. Whywhywhy Delilah is the rare case in the race that’s improved with each run. First time cheekpieces and a switch to handicaps could unlock further improvement.

Tip 2 - 2:25 Plumpton - Realistic Optimism

He has spent 2 years off the track, but if Realistic Optimism is ready for this he will put these to the sword. He has some strong bumper form, including beating a horse subsequently rated 134 by over 10 lengths. The addition of a first time hood suggests the horse is ready to win, and is not just here for a day out.

Tip 3 - 3:25 Plumpton - Saligo Bay

A run on the flat just over a month ago will mean Saligo Bay is fit enough for his seasonal reappearance over jumps. Those spins on the flat mean he is still on his very workable hurdles mark of just 100. Considering he has handicap hurdle wins off 107 and 109, plus a flat handicap win off 76, this mark is more than generous. Especially as Freddie Michell takes off a handy 5lb with his claim.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
