England's attention has turned towards the players who will be selected by Gareth Southgate for this summer's Euro 2024, with the provisional squad of 33 announced on 21st May and the final 26-man squad confirmed on 7th June, a week before the tournament begins when Germany host Scotland. A host of big-name players didn't make the cut, with the headliners being Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson.

Despite not holding down a regular spot with Arsenal, Aaron Ramsdale appears entrenched as one of the three goalkeepers. Aston Villa's Ezri Konza is in the provisional squad and must be a good shout to make the summer squad at Euro 2024. Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite was named in his first squad, and Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo got his first start last time out as an injury replacement, and he is now on the plane if the odds at football betting sites are to be believed.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is a certainty to make the 26-man squad after a tremendous first season with the Blues. It would have been unthinkable just 12 months ago that Gareth Southgate might consider not taking Jack Grealish, but he has really struggled for form for Manchester City. It might be that the extended 26-man squad will help him force his way in, with betting sites lengthening his odds in recent times. Crystal Palace's strong end to the season has been rewarded with call ups for four of their players, including a first-time call up for Adam Wharton, who has been a revelation in midfield since his move from Blackburn in January. Reports suggest that Curtis Jones, James Maddison and Jarrell Quansah have been dropped from the provisional squad, leaving just four more names to be taken off the list.

The betting apps allow customers to bet on any player to make the England Euro 2024 squad, and the odds suggest that Raheem Sterling might have played his last game for England.

Betting sites thought that Jordan Henderson was likely to be included, but he has been left out with Chelsea defenders Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Levi Colwill also not making the provisional squad. Ivan Toney made the squad despite not scoring for eight league games, while Curtis Jones was rewarded for a fine season with Liverpool to make it for the time being.

Will Grealish Be Watching Euros From Home?

Jack Grealish has been seen as a virtual certainty to make this squad for the last 18 months, but his production with Manchester City as they chase a domestic double hasn't been what we have come to expect. That has had an impact on his price with most football betting sites. He was heavily odds-on earlier in the season, but his odds have lengthened since then and while still odds-on he is much closer to odds-against than he once was at 2/5 even after being named in the provisional 33-man squad.

He now has a few weeks to impress Gareth Southgate enough to give him a spot on the plane to Germany.

Watkins Ahead of Bowen in England Pecking Order

Eddie Nketiah earned his first England cap earlier this season, but he has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and so didn't make the squad. Ollie Watkins has had a fantastic season for a high-flying Aston Villa team, and he is likely to be the second choice striker.

It is likely to be Ivan Toney and Jarrod Bowen battling it out for the third striker spot after Dominic Solanke didn't make the cut. He won his only cap for England as a 19-year-old in 2017, but he is now one of the leading English scorers in the Premier League, but perhaps his time will come at future tournaments..
