Tip 1 - 12:00 Chepstow - Julius Des Pictons

An interesting novices’ hurdle opens the Welsh Grand National card at Chepstow, and like the big race it could well come down to who handles the soft ground best. A game winner last time out over further, you would imagine the French bred Julius Des Pictons will cope with conditions and has the required stamina to keep going at the business end of things.

Tip 2 - 1.45 Leopardstown - Karniquet

Karniquet looked very impressive last time out, quickening nicely when asked towards the end of the race to score by 11 lengths. The horse he beat that day, Downmexicoway, won a maiden hurdle in fine style yesterday by 10 lengths. Should the form work out, Karniquet could be very impressive indeed.

Tip 3 - 2.50 Chepstow - Val Dancer

The Welsh Grand National is all about stamina. 3m6 on soft ground is going to stretch all horses, these are the conditions Val Dancer loves. Still keeping on over 3m2 last time out, you know he is going to dig in towards the end of the race when it becomes a real slog. In here off a rating of just 126, that means he only needs to carry 10 stone 6lb, something which could become an advantage late in the race.

What Are the Average Advised Odds of Our Tips?

We tip a minimum of 3 horses per day across the UK and Irish racing and the average starting price of our selections is a remarkable 4/1 over hundred and hundreds of tips this year.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
