England's attention has turned towards the players who will be selected by Gareth Southgate for this summer's Euro 2024, with the provisional squad of 33 announced on 21st May and the final 26-man squad confirmed on 7th June, a week before the tournament begins when Germany host Scotland. A host of big-name players didn't make the cut, with the headliners being Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson.

Despite not holding down a regular spot with Arsenal, Aaron Ramsdale appears entrenched as one of the three goalkeepers. Aston Villa's Ezri Konza is in the provisional squad and must be a good shout to make the summer squad at Euro 2024. Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite was named in his first squad, and Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo got his first start last time out as an injury replacement, and he is now on the plane if the odds at football betting sites are to be believed.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is a certainty to make the 26-man squad after a tremendous first season with the Blues. It would have been unthinkable just 12 months ago that Gareth Southgate might consider not taking Jack Grealish, but he has really struggled for form for Manchester City. Eddie Nketiah earned his first England cap earlier this season, but he has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and so didn't make the squad. Ollie Watkins has had a fantastic season for a high-flying Aston Villa team, and he is likely to be the second choice striker.

It is likely to be Ivan Toney and Jarrod Bowen battling it out for the third striker spot after Dominic Solanke didn't make the cut. He won his only cap for England as a 19-year-old in 2017, but he is now one of the leading English scorers in the Premier League, but perhaps his time will come at future tournaments..
